In a significant development, four Pakistan players have been picked by the English teams for the upcoming domestic season.

After Pakistan crashed out of the T20 World Cup 2026, the Pakistani players are engaged in the PSL 2026, representing their respective franchises in the tournament.

As the English domestic season, comprising the County Championship, the One-Day Cup and the Vitality Blast T20, has kicked off, four players from Pakistan have been chosen by the teams for the entire cycle.

Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Abbas, Sufiyan Muqeem and Usama Mir granted NOCs by PCB

The Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB has granted NOCs to four prominent Pakistan players- Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Abbas, Sufiyan Muqeem and Usama Mir- to participate in the English domestic season.

Experienced all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz recently featured in the T20 World Cup 2026, where Pakistan suffered an embarrassing Super 8 elimination. The seasoned campaigner had a roller-coaster ride in the competition, scalping seven wickets in six outings.

However, despite blowing hot and cold in the T20 World Cup, Nawaz remains a valuable asset for teams in the shortest format, courtesy of his all-round attributes.

The PCB has granted a No Objection Certificate to the experienced cricketer, allowing him to play the T20 Blast in England.

On the other hand, Mohammad Abbas has been granted multiple NOCs, ensuring his availability for the entire English domestic season across formats.

He has been a regular face in the County Circuit, having showcased remarkable bowling attributes in seam-friendly English conditions.

The PCB has also issued NOCs to the wily spin duo of Sufiyan Muqeem and Usama Mir to represent the English teams in the domestic competitions.

These two spinners have lost their spots in the Pakistan white-ball squads due to the consistent performance of Abrar Ahmed and the emergence of Usman Tariq.

Both Sufiyan Muqeem and Usama Mir will play the Vitality Blast T20, which will be played from May 22 to July 18. Sufiyan will be available till June 7, while Nawaz and Usama have been granted NOCs for a longer period.

Which English teams will Nawaz, Abbas, Muqeem and Usama play for?

Hailed for his ability to generate significant movement off the deck, Mohammad Abbas will play for Derbyshire in the English domestic season. He will participate in the County Championship, while also remaining available for the white-ball competitions.

On the other hand, white-ball specialists Mohammad Nawaz, Sufiyan Muqeem and Usama Mir will be in action during the T20 Blast 2026. The tournament comprises 108 matches, including seven knockout fixtures.

Usama Mir will play for Worcestershire, having signed a three-year deal with the reputed English team.

Meanwhile, this will be the maiden T20 Blast stint for Mohammad Nawaz and Sufiyan Muqeem, who are currently playing for Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi, respectively.

Best chance for Muqeem and Usama to make T20I comeback

Although Abrar and Usman Tariq have been phenomenal with the ball, the T20 Blast gives Usama Mir and Sufiyan Muqeem a golden opportunity to showcase their mettle and convince the PCB selection committee of a T20I comeback.

Usama played his final T20I against New Zealand back in 2024, while Sufiyan Muqeem's last international appearance came during the Asia Cup last year.
