UP Warriorz beat Mumbai Indians by 22 runs in Match 10 of the ongoing WPL 2026 on Saturday, January 17. A dominant batting effort followed by disciplined bowling powered UP Warriorz to their second win of the tournament.
Here, we take a look at the complete highlights of Match 10 of the WPL 2026 between UP Warriorz and Mumbai Indians, as it unfolded on Saturday, January 17.
Lanning and Litchfield propel UP Warriorz to a formidable 187-run total
Asked to bat first, UP Warriorz had a nightmare start as Kiran Navgire departed for a golden duck. However, they recovered well to score 56 in the powerplay without losing any further wicket. Meg Lanning looked in sublime touch, attacking early, while Phoebe Litchfield played a steady supporting role alongside her.
Mumbai Indians searched for answers and brought Amelia Kerr into the attack after the powerplay, but Lanning continued to play her shots and brought up a confident half-century, keeping UP Warriorz firmly in control at the halfway stage.
Litchfield then shifted gears, punishing the pacers, especially Amanjot, and raced to her fifty in just 33 balls. Mumbai Indians missed a few chances, dropping her multiple times, before Amanjot eventually broke through, dismissing Litchfield for 61 before further damage could be done.
Lanning soon fell for a well-made 70, with Mumbai Indians managing to put some break on the runs. However, Chloe Tryon and Harleen Deol added crucial runs at the death, but Mumbai Indians bowled tightly in the last two overs, conceding only 10 runs, as UP Warriorz ended on 187, falling short of a potential 200-plus total.
Amelia Kerr was the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai Indians, taking three wickets for just 28 runs. Nat Sciver-Brunt was also economical, claiming two key wickets for just 22 runs, including the wicket of dangerous Tryon, keeping UP Warriorz under pressure and preventing them from a bigger finish.
Amanjot Kaur and Amelia Kerr heroics in vain as UP Warriorz dominate
Chasing 188, Mumbai Indians suffered an early collapse, losing both openers cheaply and crawling to 38 in the powerplay. Kranti Gaud struck first before Sophie Ecclestone tightened the screws, giving UP Warriorz the ideal start on a surface increasingly assisting spinners.
Mumbai Indians struggled from the start as the pitch slowed down. Early hopes of a rebuild vanished when in-form Nat Sciver-Brunt fell soon after the powerplay. The innings further collapsed with Harmanpreet Kaur and Nicola Carey departing around the halfway mark, leaving chase reeling.
Just when Mumbai Indians looked completely out of the contest, Amelia Kerr and Amanjot Kaur joined hands for a quick counter attack. The duo stitched a blazing 50-run stand off just 26 balls, taking on the UP Warriorz bowlers, finding gaps and over the boundary ropes to briefly turn the pressure back.
Bringing the equation down to 37 off the last two overs, UP Warriorz held their nerve. Shikha Pandey delivered a superb penultimate over, conceding just three runs and removing Amanjot Kaur, before Deepti Sharma calmly sealed the win in the final over.
