SRH captain Pat Cummins and KKR’s firebrand opener Finn Allen just produced one of the most chaotic powerplay overs in IPL history, let alone in the ongoing IPL 2026 season. Bowling his second over of the innings and the fourth over of the KKR run chase, Cummins leaked a couple of sixes and boundaries before striking back with a wicket to cap off a breathless over.
The exhilarating six-ball play ended up yielding both, a cracking start for the KKR franchise and an early wicket for the ‘Orange Army’.

Wayward in his line and length, the legendary Australian speedster started off his over with five wides. Finn Allen hammered the next ball in front of square for a huge six as the KKR franchise started off on a cracking note in their chase of 166.
The explosive New Zealand opener picked up a double off the second legal delivery, and smeared one six and two boundaries off the next two balls to extract 27 runs from five balls of the Pat Cummins over. The champion Australian cricketer eventually got his revenge with a wicket off the last ball to cap an exhilarating over.

And just like that, KKR raced to 49-1 in four overs, having started off the over at 22-0 to produce one of the most frenzied powerplay passages the IPL has witnessed in recent memory.
Pat Cummins delivers his most expensive over yet
Despite picking up the wicket of New Zealand-based KKR opener Finn Allen, SRH skipper Pat Cummins ended up delivering the most expensive over of his T20 career.
A veteran of 173 T20 matches and a 2021 T20 World Cup winner for Australia, Cummins has been averaging an expensive 49.50 with the ball in IPL 2026 so far.
