Players Who Have Played For CSK, RCB, MI In IPL [Source: AFP]
CSK, RCB and MI are three big powerhouses of the IPL. In nearly two decades, these teams dominated the league due to their star-studded lineup, esteemed success and enormous fan following.
Naturally, players yearn to be a part of such high-profile franchises. However, only a handful of players have managed to represent all three teams, CSK, RCB and MI at least once in their IPL career. Let’s look at them one by one.
Parthiv Patel
Former wicket-keeper batter Parthiv Patel is someone whose IPL career crossed all three franchises. He made his league debut with CSK in 2008 and later played until 2010.
Patel then landed at RCB in 2014 and returned to play a couple of more seasons in 2018 and 2019 before eventually retiring. Interestingly, Parthiv Patel was also recruited by MI for three seasons, where he was a part of their title-winning campaigns in 2015 and 2017.
Tim Southee
New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee has also worn the colours of all three franchises. He also began his IPL career with CSK in 2011 and later represented MI in 2016 and 2017.
Later, Southee also played for RCB in 2018 and 2019 before moving to KKR for his final IPL stint. However, throughout his career with CSK, RCB and MI, Tim Southee never managed to become a lead bowler and played only a handful of games for them.

Robin Uthappa
Robin Uthappa began his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in 2008, but after just one season, he moved to RCB, where he stayed for two seasons. Interestingly, Uthappa spent a large chunk of his IPL career with KKR.
But towards the latter part of his journey, Uthappa got an opportunity to complete his hat-trick when CSK recruited him in 2021. He played two seasons for CSK before eventually retiring following the 2022 edition.
Karn Sharma
Karn Sharma's IPL journey has taken him through all three powerhouses. He made his IPL debut for RCB in 2009, but played just a single game. Later, he travelled to MI in IPL 2017 before joining CSK from 2018 to 2021. Interestingly, Karn’s IPL career came full circle when he rejoined RCB for two seasons in 2023 and 2024.
He also got to represent MI again in IPL 2025 before eventually phasing out. What makes his journey extraordinary is his trophy record. Sharma won the IPL with SRH in 2016, MI in 2017 and CSK in 2018, becoming the first player to win three consecutive titles with three different teams.
Chris Jordan
England all-rounder Chris Jordan became another member of this exclusive group. He made his IPL debut with RCB in 2016 and later played for SRH and PBKS. But CSK showed faith in him by signing him for the IPL 2022 season, where he played just 4 games.
Chris Jordan completed the trio when he joined Mumbai in 2023. Again, he played only 6 games for Mumbai Indians and later phased out of the IPL.
Adam Milne
New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne completes the list. He represented RCB in 2016 and 2017 and later joined MI in 2018. But his Mumbai Indians stint lasted for only a single season as he moved to CSK in 2019.
However, CSK included him in the playing XI only once that season. Regardless, despite limited appearances, Adam Milne managed to be a part of this exclusive IPL list.
