Tanush Kotian, Mumbai and West Zone spinner, is also an excellent fielder and showcased his abilities in the ongoing Duleep Trophy 2026-27 game. West Zone is playing North Zone at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1, Bengaluru, from August 23 onwards.

Kanhaiya Wadhawan, captain of North Zone, won the toss and chose to bat first at the COE 1 ground. However, only two players managed to score half-centuries. Ayush Badoni made 51 runs and Anshul Kamboj top-scored with 60, hitting 5 sixes and 5 fours.

Tanush Kotian takes two amazing diving catches for the West Zone

Tanush Kotian starred with the ball, taking four wickets, but it was his performance in the field as well that impressed everyone as well. There were two catches that Kotian took for West Zone that stood out the most.

The first catch was that of Abid Mushtaq. Tushar Deshpande bowled a short ball to Mushtaq, who blindly played a pull shot.

The ball hit the edge of the bat and went towards the fine leg position. It seemed like the ball would fall short of Kotian, who was running in for the catch. Kotian had to dive forward full length to make the catch.

Tanush Kotian takes an amazing catch of his own bowling

The second catch Kotian took came off his own bowling. He was bowling to Arshdeep Singh as North Zone’s tailenders wanted to add some quick runs. Arshdeep Singh swung at the ball, trying to play a sweep shot. But he only managed to get a top edge on the ball.

The ball went high into the sky towards the mid-on/mid-wicket region, which was empty with no player stationed there. But Kotian put his long limbs to great use and made another full-length dive to take an amazing catch that even left his teammates in surprise.
