Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue produced a brilliant bowling effort at Headingley, taking five wickets each as England bowled Pakistan out for 171 in the first innings of the opening Test of the three-match series.
The England pair shared all 10 wickets between them, with Robinson finishing with 5/51 and Tongue taking 5/46. Their performance showed just how effective only two bowlers can be in a Test innings.
Such a feat is rare in Test cricket. India has also had bowling pairs achieve the same milestone by taking all 10 wickets in an innings.
Here are the Indian pairs who have taken all 10 wickets in a Test innings.
5. Ravindra Jadeja (7) & R Ashwin (3) vs Australia, Delhi in 2023
The list of Indian bowling pairs to have taken all 10 wickets in a Test innings includes Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin as the most recent instance, who achieved the feat against Australia in Delhi in 2023.
Australia had a one-run lead after the first innings and had a chance to put India under serious pressure with a strong second-innings total. But Jadeja and Ashwin turned the game on its head, ripping through the Australian batting lineup.
The spin duo bowled Australia out for just 113, with Jadeja taking 7/42 and Ashwin claiming 3/59. India comfortably chased down the target and took a 2-0 lead in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
4. Pragyan Ojha (6) & R Ashwin (4) vs West Indies, Mumbai in 2011
At the Wankhede Stadium in 2011, third Test of the three-match series, West Indies had a lead of more than 100 runs in the second innings and looked well placed to put India under pressure. But Pragyan Ojha and R Ashwin had other plans.
Ojha opened the bowling with the new ball and kept the West Indies batters under control from the start. Ashwin then joined him and continued to trouble the batting lineup, giving the visitors no chance to build their lead.
Ojha finished with 6/47, while Ashwin took 4/34, as India bowled West Indies out for just 134. Their combined effort helped India fight back and eventually save the Test match.

3. Anil Kumble (8) & Irfan Pathan (2) vs Australia, Sydney in 2004
Another instance of an Indian bowling pair taking all 10 wickets in a Test innings came in Sydney in 2004, during the fourth Test of the series against Australia.
Australia were bowled out for 474 in their first innings, with Anil Kumble and Irfan Pathan taking every Australian wicket to fall. Kumble produced a brilliant 8/141, while Pathan finished with 2/80.
The pair's effort was crucial as Australia were unable to match India's massive 705 total, conceding a lead of 231 runs. Kumble and Pathan's wickets helped India stay firmly in control of the Test.
2. Kapil Dev (8) & Maninder Singh (2) vs Pakistan, Lahore in 1983
Kapil Dev and Maninder Singh form another Indian bowling pair to feature on this list, having shared all 10 wickets of an innings against Pakistan in Lahore during the 1983 Test series.
Pakistan started well on a pitch that offered plenty for the batters and appeared set for a big total. Kapil kept finding important breakthroughs to stop their progress, while Maninder Singh provided valuable support with his left-arm spin.
Kapil finished with a brilliant 8/85, while Maninder took 2/90. Together, they picked up every Pakistani wicket, bowling them out for 323 and preventing the hosts from posting a much bigger total, keeping India in the contest.
1. BS Chandrasekhar (8) & Bishan Singh Bedi (2) vs England, Delhi in 1972
India was hosting England for a five-match Test series and had a poor start to the first Test in Delhi, managing just 173 runs in their first innings. England then looked in control and had a chance to build a big lead.
However, B Chandrasekhar and Bishan Singh Bedi totally spoiled their party. The two spinners bowled brilliantly to dismiss England for 200, giving them only a 27-run lead.
Chandrasekhar was the star with his leg-spin, taking 8/79, while Bedi picked up 2/59. Their effort brought India back into the Test, but the Indian batters struggled again in the second innings, and England eventually won the match.
