Delhi Capitals slumped to one of its lowest ever totals in IPL history, doing so in match number 39 of the IPL 2026 season against defending champions RCB. Conjuring just 75 runs on the board, the team started off its innings by getting rocked early at 8-6, thus recording one of the worst starts in IPL history overall before David Miller and Abishek Porel attained some respectability for the hosts.

In spite of Capitals’ latest collapse, the team’s dismal batting effort still falls well short of their overall lowest IPL total. Here is a look at five of the lowest totals recorded by the Delhi Capitals franchise in IPL history.

5. Delhi Daredevils 83 vs CSK, IPL 2013

Delhi Capitals, then Daredevils, folded up for just 83 against a heavyweight CSK side in match number 24 of the IPL 2013 season. Chasing 170 for a win at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the hosts lost opener David Warner in the second over for just a single, and lost each of its top four batters inside the first six overs.

Kedar Jadhav at number six accrued 31 runs off 28 balls, with vintage opener Virender Sehwag and captain Mahela Jayawardene being the only other batters to cross the double-digit mark in the innings. Interestingly, not a single Capitals player was dismissed for a duck, as each of the remaining eight batters registered scores between one and six.

4. Delhi Daredevils 80 vs SRH, IPL 2013

Mere two weeks after getting bundled out for just 83 against the CSK, the Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) put up just 80 on the board against SRH in match number 48 of the IPL 2013 season.

Batting first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, the visitors took their time to reach 50-2 by 10.4 overs, before losing their remaining eight wickets for just 30. Unmukt Chand top-scored in the innings with his mere 17-run effort, and the likes of Irfan Pathan, Jeevan Mendis and captain Mahela Jayawardene chipped in with 35 runs combined.

Two ducks in the tail ensured that the Capitals did not face its share of 20 overs, largely owing to sizzling two-fers from Dale Steyn, Thisara Perera and Daren Sammy.

3. Delhi Capitals 75 vs RCB, IPL 2026

Up against defending champions RCB in match number 39 of the IPL 2026 season in Delhi, the hosts crumbled out for just 75 in 16.3 overs. As many as three batters in its top six registered shambolic ducks, and the likes of KL Rahul, Nitish Rana and Tristan Stubbs also managed to register single-digit scores as the hosts slipped to 8-6 early in the game.

Abishek Porel listed a fighting 30 off 33 balls and David Miller made 19 as the Capitals saved themselves from IPL’s biggest humiliation (49 all out). For the RCB, Josh Hazlewood (4-12) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3-5) decimated the hosts by picking seven wickets between them.

2. Delhi Daredevils 67 vs Kings XI Punjab, IPL 2017

In match 36 of the IPL 2017 season against the Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab), the Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) batted first and blew away for just 67 in 17.1 overs. Axar Patel and Varun Aaron also picked up two wickets each in the innings.

Only three batters managed to hit the double-digit mark, with Corey Anderson being the best of them with his mere 18-run effort from 25 balls. The innings also featured two ducks, that from opener Sam Billings and number 11 Shahbaz Nadeem.

1. Delhi Daredevils 66 vs Mumbai Indians, IPL 2017

A week after getting annihilated by the Punjab-based franchise, the Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) dusted out for just 66 in 13.4 overs. Chasing 213 against the Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the hosts started off with a first-ball duck for opener Sanju Samson, and by losing four more wickets before the end of the six-over powerplay phase.
