The clash between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 39 of the IPL 2026 at Arun Jaitley Stadium turned into a historic nightmare for the home side. Asked to bat first after RCB captain Rajat Patidar won the toss, DC suffered a shocking collapse and created unwanted records in IPL history.
The trouble began almost immediately after the match started. Young debutant Sahil Parakh was dismissed on just the second ball of the match, setting the tone for what followed.
Delhi Capitals fall like pack of cards
In the very next over, Josh Hazlewood struck twice and scalped the wickets of KL Rahul and Sameer Rizvi in quick succession. Delhi Capitals suddenly found themselves in deep trouble, unable to settle against disciplined pace bowling.
The collapse only got worse with every ball. Tristan Stubbs and captain Axar Patel also failed to make an impact and were sent back cheaply.

Within just a few overs, Delhi Capitals were reeling at 7 for 5, with half the side already back in the pavilion. The pressure kept building, and Nitish Rana soon became the next batter to fall, leaving the team struggling at 8 for 6 in the fourth over.
RCB's bowlers executed their plans perfectly. Josh Hazlewood used bounce and accuracy, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar maintained tight lines and swing, giving the Delhi Capitals players no room to recover.
