Rishabh Pant Salary in IPL (Source: AFP)
An attacking left-hand wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant has made a name for himself with his audacious strokeplay and devil-may-care approach. His best season with the bat was in IPL 2018, when he scored 684 runs at a strike rate of 173.60.
In the world’s most premium franchise league, Pant came into prominence, playing for Delhi Capitals for 8 long seasons. However, in 2025, the wicket-keeper batter was pushed into the mega auction pool, where he scripted history with a record-breaking salary.
That being said, in this article, take a look at Rishabh Pant’s IPL salary.
Rishabh Pant’s journey in IPL
A 19-year-old, left-handed batter from Delhi, Rishabh Pant was first roped in by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2016. Since making his debut on April 27, 2016, against the Gujarat Lions at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Pant has made a name for himself in the Indian Premier League.
In the IPL 2018, he scored 684 runs in total; this breakthrough season made him the new face of the franchise. To support his continued growth, he was named the captain of the Capitals in 2021, succeeding Shreyas Iyer.

That season, he led DC to the top of the table, only to bow out in the Qualifier 2 against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Post that, Pant and Delhi Capitals failed to perform consistently in the seasons that followed, leading to a public dispute between the batter and DC think tank. As a result, Rishabh parted ways with the franchise.
A record-breaking bid in IPL 2024 auction of Rishabh Pant
In November 2024, Pant made history by becoming the most expensive player in IPL history, acquired by LSG for a staggering INR 27 crore, becoming the most expensive player in IPL history.
However, Rishabh Pant has so far failed to deliver for the Lucknow-based team. Thus, following back-to-back underwhelming seasons and a 10th-place finish in 2026, he stepped down from the captaincy in May 2026.
Moreover, until now, Rishabh has scored two centuries in the IPL, one for Delhi Capitals, 128 off 63 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad (May 10, 2018), another, 118 off 43 balls for Lucknow Super Giants against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (May 27, 2025).

Rishabh Pant IPL 2026 Salary
Despite an underwhelming IPL 2025, with the bat and as a captain, Rishabh was retained by the Sanjiv Goenka-owned Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the 2026 IPL season for ₹27 crore. This massive retention price made him one of the most expensive players in the league.
Despite such a massive price tag, Pant only scored 312 runs in 14 matches in the IPL 2026 season at an average of 28.36 with a strike rate of 138.05 in the season, with only one fifty.
It was marginally better than his IPL 2025 season, where he had scored 269 runs in 14 matches at an average of 24.45 with 1 century and 1 fifty to his name.
