Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) lock horns in the Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2026 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur. However, as the focus shifted to the toss, something very unpredictable happened, surprising one and all, including the GT captain Shubman Gill.

Notably, the high-octane GT vs RR match will decide the second team to qualify for the IPL 2026 final, the championship match against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 31 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium.

Why RR vs GT Toss happened twice?

The two captains, Shubman Gill and Riyan Parag, came together in the middle alongside commentator Ravi Shastri for the all-important toss.

As usual, the match referee, Prakash Bhatt, tossed the coin.

Thus, the coin had to be tossed again, as the call from Riyan Parag's call wasn't loud enough for the match referee, as confirmed by Ravi Shastri. However, GT captain Shubman Gill doesn't look too pleased with the way things panned out.

For the unversed, during the first attempt, Gill had won the toss. But the fate changed in the second attempt.

While speaking to Shastri, Gill expressed displeasure with what happened at the toss. He said, “Unfortunately, I don't think the referee heard the call from Riyan.”
