The young Rajasthan Royals opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, achieved one of the rarest milestones in the history of IPL, with his half-century off just 13 balls against KKR in IPL 2023. With this knock, Jaiswal smashed the fastest half-century in IPL history, surpassing KL Rahul and Pat Cummins.

Following Jaiswal’s fastest half-century in the tournament’s history, there have been a couple of players who have smashed half-centuries off 15, 16 or 17 balls. But the RR southpaw’s record of a 13-ball fifty is yet to be broken.

Nonetheless, there are a few batters who have the potential to break Yashasvi Jaiswal’s record and smash IPL’s fastest-ever half-century. Notably, most of these players are already on the list of the fastest half-centuries in IPL over the last couple of editions.

Here’s a look at the five players who can break Yashasi Jaiswal’s fastest IPL 50 record.

5 Players who can break Yashasvi Jaiswal’s fastest IPL 50 record

Travis Head - SRH

The swashbuckling opener, Travis Head, has been one of the most in-form batters for SRH in the last two IPL editions in 2024 and 2025, respectively. He was the leading run-scorer for his side in IPL 2024, with 567 runs in 15 innings at an average of 40.50, hitting a century and four half-centuries.

Besides that, Head also smashed two half-centuries off just 16 balls each in the 2024 edition. He has the record of the joint-fourth-fastest half-century in IPL. So, the Aussie southpaw might break Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 13-ball half-century record, most probably in the upcoming IPL 2026.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi - Rajasthan Royals

The teenage batting prodigy, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, caught the attention for his blistering approach while playing for RR in IPL 2025. He featured in seven matches for his side, scoring 252 runs in seven innings at an average of 36.00 and a swashbuckling strike rate of 206.55.

He also scored a century and a half-century in the last edition. Apart from that, the 14-year-old also registered his name among the batters with the fastest half-centuries in IPL, with a 17-ball 50 against the Gujarat Titans in the tournament’s 47th match.

Vaibhav can also achieve the milestone of fastest half-century in IPL, surpassing Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Abhishek Sharma - SRH

The swashbuckling SRH opener, Abhishek Sharma, has been in a sensational run of form with the bat for the last two IPL editions. He has finished as the second leading run-scorer for his side successively in IPL 2024 and 2025.

In the 2024 edition, Abhishek scored 484 runs, with three half-centuries, followed by 439 runs in 2025, including a century and three half-centuries. Meanwhile, he also scored the joint-fourth-fastest half-century in IPL, with a 16-ball 50 against the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.

Considering his batting position in the opening slot during the powerplay phase, Abhishek can be backed as the batter to smash the fastest half-century in IPL, breaking Jaiswal’s record.

Ishan Kishan - SRH

Ishan Kishan was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025, and he amazed everyone with his spectacular century in the first game for SRH. Ishan smashed 106 runs off just 47 balls, with 11 fours and six sixes. Furthermore, in the tournament’s 65th match, he smashed an unbeaten knock of 94 runs off just 48 balls to help his side beat RCB by 42 runs.

Apart from that, Ishan also scored one of the fastest IPL centuries during his stint with the Mumbai Indians. It came in IPL 2021, when MI faced SRH in Abu Dhabi in the tournament’s 55th match.

Ishan completed his half-century off just 16 balls and ended up scoring 84 runs off just 32 balls, with 11 fours and four sixes. Hence, he can also be considered as one of the top contenders to achieve the record of fastest half-century in IPL history.

Dewald Brevis - CSK

South Africa’s young middle-order batter, Dewald Brevis, in a very short time, has earned a reputation as a destructive batter. Last year in IPL 2025, he was picked by CSK as a replacement for the injured pacer Gurjapneet Singh.

Furthermore, Brevis proved his worth with the bat, smashing a 19-ball half-century against the Gujarat Titans in the tournament’s 67th game. CSK won this game by a big margin of 83 runs, with Brevis winning the ‘Player of the Match’ award.

Recently, the 22-year-old right-hander attracted the headlines for his 56-ball century against Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 2026 final. So, he can also be a batter to smash the fastest IPL fifty, breaking Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 13-ball half-century record.
