The Lucknow Super Giants ended yet another IPL season without reaching the playoffs, as the Rishabh Pant-led outfit finished bottom of the points table with only four wins in 14 matches.

In the initial part of the season, it was their bowling unit, led by Prince Yadav, which was in form, but the batters were unable to score runs. Contrary to that, the bowlers conceded over 200 runs in five of the last 6 matches, when the batters started clicking.

Western Australia duo Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis were the standout batters, and Prince Yadav’s antics with the ball earned him his maiden national call-up.

As they became the first team of this IPL to crash out of the season, we rate each LSG player based on their IPL 2026 performances.

LSG player ratings for IPL 2026

Mitchell Marsh- 7.5/10

  • Runs- 563; Average- 43.30; Strike Rate- 163.18
  • Mitchell Marsh finished as LSG’s leading run-scorer in IPL 2026 but peaked too late in the tournament, when they had no chance of qualification. Had only one fifty in the first 8 matches, before turning things around.

Aiden Markram- 5.5/10

  • Runs- 231; Average- 25.66; Strike Rate- 138.32; Wicket- 0; Economy rate- 13.83
  • Aiden Markram started the tournament as one of their better batters when everyone around was struggling, but fizzled out towards the end. His batting position was also tinkered with a lot, meaning the lack of role clarity played a part in the poor season.

Josh Inglis- 9/10

  • Runs- 266; Average- 53.20; Strike Rate- 186.01
  • Josh Inglis joined the LSG camp late in the season, but he was the difference maker as they gained some momentum before the end of the season. He had an immediate impact and scored 3 fifties in 5 innings and solved the problem at the top.

Nicholas Pooran- 4/10

  • Runs- 234; Average- 18; Strike Rate- 127.86
  • Nicholas Pooran had a horrendous start to the tournament, hurting the team’s aspirations, but he got back in scoring some runs after he was back at his preferred number 3 position. Additionally, the wrist issues played a part

Rishabh Pant- 6/10

  • Runs- 312; Average- 28.36; Strike Rate- 138.05
  • Rishabh Pant had another underwhelming season with the bat, where he played all over the top-5 and couldn’t get going anywhere. Some questionable decisions as captain also proved detrimental to the team. He has set the standards high for himself previously.

Ayush Badoni- 6/10

  • Runs- 215; Average- 21.50; Strike Rate- 152.48
  • Ayush Badoni was one of the batters who looked in good touch time to time but did not manage to find consistency. Shouldn’t have been dropped mid-way through the season, and it should also be given a better role clarity to live up to the expectations.

Mukul Choudhary- 4/10

  • Runs- 170; Average- 28.33; Strike Rate- 141.66
  • Mukul Choudhary showed immense talent with the 54-run knock against the Kolkata Knight Riders, but did not manage to find any consistency. During some crunch moments, he failed to turn up and stabilise the ship or counter-attack.

Abdul Samad- 3/10

  • Runs- 116; Average- 19.33; Strike Rate- 131.81
  • Abdul Samad has now been a part of the IPL for a long time, and it was his turn to step up and perform in a struggling batting unit. Despite playing 8 matches, none of his performances helped the team win or put them in a strong position.

Himmat Singh- 5/10

  • Runs- 92; Average- 30.88; Strike Rate- 133.33
  • Himmat Singh mostly batted when the match was out of reach, or he did not have enough balls to affect the match, apart from one instance, where he helped the team tie the match. He batted decently overall.

Akshat Raghuvanshi- 3/10

  • Runs- 29; Average- 14.50; Strike Rate- 116
  • Akshat Raghuvanshi did not get enough time to showcase his talent, but looked underwhelming in the two innings where he batted, despite carrying a good reputation.

Arshin Kulkarni- 1/10

  • Runs- 17; Strike Rate- 68
  • Arshin Kulkarni had two innings at the top of the batting order to show his talent, but was completely out of sorts and scored only 17 in 25 balls.

Shahbaz Ahmed- 6/10

  • 58 runs in 2 innings at a strike rate of 141.46; Wicket- 5; Economy rate- 11.64
  • Shahbaz Ahmed was not their first-choice player, but when he was called into the team, he batted well for quick runs down the order. He also chipped in with wickets but conceded heavily.

George Linde- 4/10

  • Runs- 31; Average- 10.33; Strike Rate 147.61; Wickets- 1; Economy rate- 8.91
  • George Linde wasn’t given enough opportunities to prove himself with both bat and ball. In 3 matches, he scored 31 runs at a decent strike rate but could not help the team win. He only picked a single wicket in 6.1 overs bowled, which wasn’t enough.

Mohammed Shami- 6.5/10

  • Wickets- 12; Economy Rate- 9; Strike Rate- 25.50
  • Mohammed Shami was a reliable bowler for Rishabh Pant for most of the season, but eventually, he fizzled out and finished with 12 wickets. His drop in form also meant the opposition scored freely in the last matches. His batting exploits also took a match to the Super Over, earning him brownie points.

Prince Yadav- 9/10

  • Wickets- 16; Economy Rate- 8.82; Strike Rate- 19.5
  • Prince Yadav was the find of the season in a struggling LSG unit, where he consistently posed a threat with his hard length bowling and reliability at the death. He was also rewarded with a place in the Indian team after the season.

Mohsin Khan- 8/10

  • Wickets- 11; Economy Rate- 8.14; Strike Rate- 15.50
  • Mohsin Khan was their go-to new ball bowler whenever he was fit and ready to play. He bowled three maidens and had a brilliant bowling strike rate. Apart from the injuries, he had a near-perfect campaign on a personal front.

Avesh Khan- 3/10

  • Wickets- 6; Economy Rate- 11.06; Strike Rate- 24.60
  • Avesh Khan is another experienced IPL player who has been playing in the league for a long time, but none of his performances showed his experience, as he proved to be the weak link in a formidable bowling attack.

M Siddharth- 6/10

  • Wickets- 6; Economy Rate- 9.66; Strike Rate- 15
  • M Siddharth performed well in the limited opportunities and did not shy away from the challenges. But, due to the constant chopping and changing, Siddharth could not positively affect the results for the team.

Digvesh Rathi- 3/10

  • Wickets- 5; Economy Rate- 10.17; Strike Rate- 46.80
  • Digvesh Rathi was trusted over Ravi Bishnoi ahead of the season as the latter was released by the franchise after Rathi's commendable debut season. However, he failed to replicate those performances this season, resulting in a net negative impact.

Akash Singh- 7/10

  • Wickets- 4; Economy Rate- 11.42; Strike Rate- 10.50
  • Akash Singh had instant impact as he joined the team in the final two matches. He picked a 3/26 in his first match, but followed it up with 1/54. Nonetheless, when he was introduced to the XI, the season was already lost.

Mayank Yadav- 1/10

  • Wickets- 0; Economy Rate- 11.37
  • Mayank Yadav is touted as one of the finest young bowlers in the country. However, in the four matches that he played and bowled 16 overs in, he looked out of sorts. Only in one match, he rushed the batters with his trademark express pace, but still had no substantial impact in the season.

Anrich Nortje- 1/10

  • Wickets- 0; Economy Rate- 9.75
  • Anrich Nortje proved to be one of the out-of-favour players right after the first match of the season, where all the other fast bowlers conceded less than 7 runs per over. He was also unavailable after a point, having returned home.

Arjun Tendulkar- 4/10

  • Wickets- 1; Economy Rate- 9; Strike Rate- 24
  • Arjun Tendulkar only played one match in the season, when they were already knocked out of the tournament. He bowled decently in that outing, executing the yorker well to grab his first and only wicket of the season.
