The Pakistan Super League 2026 season finally concluded with a historic triumph for Peshawar Zalmi. The franchise ended a 10-year title drought, clinching their second PSL trophy with a dominant five-wicket win over debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium on May 3, 2026.

The final saw a complete team effort from Peshawar Zalmi. After restricting Hyderabad to 129 runs, thanks largely to a sensational four-wicket spell by Aaron Hardie and support from Sufiyan Muqeem, the chase was handled calmly despite early setbacks.

While Babar Azam dominated the tournament with 588 runs and Sufiyan Muqeem picked up 22 wickets, not every player lived up to expectations. As the dust settles, attention has turned to the underperformers, so in this article, let’s take a look at the Flop XI of PSL 2026.

Flop XI of PSL 2026

Openers and Top-Order Struggles: Mohammad Rizwan (c), David Warner, Saim Ayub

The opening slots in the PSL 2026 flop XI are taken by Mohammad Rizwan and David Warner, with Saim Ayub at number 3.

Mohammad Rizwan endured a particularly difficult season while leading Rawalpindiz. He managed only 107 runs in seven matches at a low average of 15.28 and a strike rate of around 116. His struggles as captain were equally concerning, as his side lost 16 of their last 17 matches over two seasons.

David Warner, on the other hand, had a more mixed campaign with Karachi Kings. While he scored 256 runs in seven matches at an average of 51.20 and a strike rate close to 148, his overall impact as a leader and consistency came under scrutiny.

Saim Ayub only had an impact in the PSL 2026 final, scoring 54 runs under pressure. However, his overall numbers, 258 runs in 13 innings at an average of 21.50, reflected inconsistency.

Middle Order and All-Rounders: Salman Agha, Khawaja Nafay (wk), Glenn Maxwell , Mohammad Nawaz, Shadab Khan

The middle order features several big names who failed to live up to expectations, including Salman Agha, Khawaja Nafay, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammad Nawaz, and Shadab Khan.

Salman Agha had a particularly poor season, scoring just 112 runs in nine innings at an average of 12.44. His highest score was only 29, and his struggles followed a disappointing T20 World Cup 2026.

Khawaja Nafay, representing Quetta Gladiators, also failed to deliver. The wicketkeeper-batter scored just 77 runs in eight innings at a very low average of 9.63, failing to make any meaningful contribution.

Glenn Maxwell's season was a mix of flashes and failures. While he played a standout knock of 70 off 37 balls to help Hyderabad reach the playoffs, his overall tally was just 99 runs in eight innings at an average of 14.14. With the ball, he just managed 5 wickets in 6 innings at an economy rate of 8.44.

Mohammad Nawaz struggled both with bat and ball. He scored only 54 runs in six innings and took 6 wickets in 9 matches, but his economy rate of 11.65 was a major concern.

Mohammad Wasim Jr., playing for Multan Sultans, also had an underwhelming season. The player bagged 7 wickets in 10 matches at an economy rate of 10.98. With the bat, he managed only 37 runs in 3 innings at a strike-rate of 194.73.

Bowlers: Usman Tariq, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf

The bowling attack of the PSL 2026 flop XI includes Usman Tariq, Abrar Ahmed, and Haris Rauf.

Usman Tariq had a controversial season due to his unusual bowling action. While he managed nine wickets in 10 matches at an economy rate of 7.55, his overall impact was below expectations, especially considering the attention surrounding him.

Abrar Ahmed also had a quiet season, finishing with nine wickets in 10 matches at an economy rate of 8.49. Although he had a standout performance of 3/23 in one game against Hyderabad Kingsmen, he lacked consistency throughout the tournament.

Haris Rauf, known for his pace and aggression, picked up 12 wickets in nine matches. However, his high economy rate of 9.80 made him one of the more expensive bowlers among top pacers.
