A new controversy took place in the Pakistan Super League 2026 during a match between Quetta Gladiators and Pindiz. The incident involved Daryl Mitchell, who briefly refused to face spinner Usman Tariq. This happened during the game held at the National Stadium in Karachi on Friday.

It is important to note that this season of the PSL has already seen several issues. For example, there have been concerns related to ball tampering, and in addition, some players were warned for not following security rules. As a result, the tournament has remained in the spotlight for multiple reasons.

Quetta Gladiators post a daunting total

Moving on to the match, Quetta Gladiators batted first and performed strongly. They managed to score 182 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Rilee Rossouw played an important role by scoring a steady 53 runs. At the same time, Saud Shakeel supported well with a solid 42 runs.

In response, Pindiz had a weak start. Mohammed Rizwan was dismissed without scoring, while Usman Khawaja managed only 7 runs. Consequently, the team found itself in trouble early, reaching just 46 runs for 3 wickets in the first 6 overs.

After that, Daryl Mitchell and Abdullah Fazal tried to rebuild the innings. They added a partnership of 32 runs, which brought some stability.
