An easy win for Kolkata Knight Riders as they opened their winning account in the 18th season. Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have been way below par under Riyan Parag's leadership. Tomorrow, we most probably will have a run-fest in Uppal between SRH and LSG.

I got three weeks off before Christmas. It was good to get ten days in the camp before the tournament. Also, I had a few practice games.
It is only my second game here. Luckily, we batted second tonight. I am a keeper. I can see what the ball does if we bowl first. I can adapt accordingly and play according to the situation. I know the IPL is known for big scores, but I just tried to win the game for us.
Nothing, to be honest. I love meeting new guys and new environments. There weren't any challengers. It was about finding my feet in a new environment. Sometimes the team accepts you later, but here with KKR, they have accepted me already with open arms, so it feels good. They made it really easy for me.
Not at all. Like as I said earlier, it is not a wicket for that type of cricket (On net run rate conversation). It was stopping, turning a bit. Not a flat wicket, which you get here in IPL. It was a working man's wicket. If we get an opportunity at a better wicket, then surely that will be a chat, but today it was all about getting down and winning it."

Moeen Ali playing his first game, unfortunately Sunil Narine was not well. Moeen got his opportunity and bowled really well with Varun.
This is a format you want your players to play fearless cricket, play with freedom and the batting unit that we have, they all are explosive batsmen. They have done this in the past for the team. It's all about giving them freedom and telling them to go out there and back themselves. Credit goes to our bowling unit. They were looking to take wickets especially Moeen Ali. Our conversation was 'I am looking for wickets.'
[Brief given to Moeen] Complete freedom from our side. Moeen's a quality player. We all know that he has opened the innings in the past as well. So it was a perfect opportunity for him to go out and play his game. Really happy with the way he contributed with the ball.
