Player Bio

A highly experienced member of the current Oman’s squad, Aamir Kaleem is an explosive all-rounder who is a pivotal member with both bat and ball in his hand. Born and brought up in Pakistan, he played in age-group matches for several Karachi-based teams. After establishing himself in Pakistan’s domestic circuit, the veteran wasn’t selected in any senior-level matches and migrated to Oman for better opportunities.

A canny slow-left armer, Aamir made his debut for the Omani national team in April 2010 and has been a regular feature since. Five years later, when Oman got the T20I status, the 39-year old all-rounder made his T20I debut against Afghanistan on July 25th, 2015. A senior member of the Oman squad, he took his career-best figures of 5/15 against a talented Nepal side on October 10th, 2019. By doing so, the Karachi-born spinner became the first cricketer from Oman to pick up a five-wicket haul in T20I cricket.

A month later, Aamir was named as the skipper of the Oman national team for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. More than a handy lower-order batter, he has played various match-winning knocks for Oman and would be hoping to do the same going into the twilight of his career.
