Player Bio

Amir Anthony Jangoo, a vibrant wicketkeeper-batter from Trinidad, is a rising star in West Indian cricket. Renowned for his explosive left-handed batting and agile glovework, Jangoo developed his craft in Trinidad’s youth cricket system, earning a spot with the Red Force through standout domestic performances.

His career took off with a List A debut for the West Indies Under-19s in the 2014–15 Regional Super50, followed by a first-class debut for Trinidad and Tobago in 2017. In 2020, he made his T20 mark with Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, holding his own despite sharing the stage with Denesh Ramdin.

Jangoo’s defining moment came in 2024 when he debuted in an ODI against Bangladesh, smashing an unbeaten century off 83 balls, the fastest on ODI debut ever, powering West Indies to a historic 325-run chase and a series whitewash. His domestic form that year was equally dazzling, leading the Super50 Cup and dominating the four-day championship with consistent, high-impact innings.

At 27, Jangoo’s blend of aggression and composure has made him a fan favourite. A regular for teams like Jamaica Tallawahs in T20 leagues, his versatility and hunger for runs position him as a future cornerstone of West Indies cricket.
