Antigua & Barbuda Falcons end their league stage run on a high and jump to the top of the table with this win. More importantly they confirm a top 2 spot as well. They were very professional and clinical in their approach and there is nothing better than giving the best side of the competition a hammering in their home ground.
As for Guyana Amazon Warriors, they shall treat this as a rare off day and not read into it too much. They have only lost 2 games in 12 matches this year across tournaments and it was their first loss in this edition of the CPL. They still have 3 games to go, and a win shall secure a top 2 position for them as well.

Moeen Ali (Antigua & Barbuda Falcons Captain): "[Was this their best win of the season?] Yeah, I think our best one. I asked the guys, you know, I know we had qualified, but I really wanted that top two, and I wanted us to show everyone that Guyana can be beaten. They're a brilliant side, but to beat them here, they're formidable, and they're a brilliant side, very well balanced. So, it's pleasing to come and win here.
[On dealing with Jangoo's low strike rate] I think actually generally he's done a good job because our side is not an explosive side. We can be right at the end, and he just lays the foundation for us, and we've been lucky enough to come good. We would obviously like a few more runs. We don't want to be five down at the end of 20 overs. We want to be at least seven, eight down, having a good go. But we're playing really well at the back end in particular. But I think it's a tough place to bat sometimes, and it was a nice foundation still to come in. So, it's pleasing, but we can get better.
[The plan behind an all-pace attack in the powerplay] I know they were off to a flyer, but the wicket, especially bowling from that end, was a little bit lower. There wasn't much grass from that end, and you always felt you can get Gurbaz out. And I didn't want to bowl spin to Gurbaz in the power play because he does play spin really well. And if I had to, then I would have, but we luckily got him out, and we managed to get another wicket with Shai Hope, which is a massive wicket. And we just kept going, and I thought I knew I had spinners in the middle, didn't have to overdo it with spin on that wicket.
[Do they have the best attack of the tournament?] It's a good attack. It's a very good attack, you know, but we're still learning. We've got guys who have struggled initially, but yeah, we've got a good attack. I don't want to say the best attack. Realistically, it'd be the best if we win it. But yeah, it's a very pleasing attack. You know, three, four seamers, two wrist spinners, finger spinners. It's nice."

[on bowling Shepherd at the death] Shepherd has more experience with his cutters and is a senior bowler so I decided to bring him in the death overs instead of Pretorius. But it didn't work out. Shamar's catch could have been match turning but it didn't happen.
[on what went wrong] We started off well but lost wickets and we just had to bat around Nabi. One of the top order batters need to bat till the 15th over. It's just that kind of a game, I don't blame anywhere here."

7:50 AM IST, 10:20 PM Local Time: Antigua & Barbuda Falcons win by 65 Runs! Antigua & Barbuda Falcons end their league stage with a commanding win. They were brilliant with the bat at the backend. That momentum carried on into their performance with the ball where they were nothing but clinical. As a result of that, they broke the unbeaten streak of Guyana Amazon Warriors in this year's CPL as the hosts are handed their first loss of the tournament after winning 6 games on the bounce.
Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl first. The top four for the Falcons in the form of Karima Gore (23), Evin Lewis (22), Amir Jangoo (27) and Hasan Nawaz (36) got starts but failed to capitalise on them. When all got dismissed, the visitors were is a spot of bother at 120/4 after 16.3 overs. That is when valuable cameos from Moeen Ali (18 off 12) and Shadab Khan (30* off 9) came to the rescue. The latter was dropped on the second ball of the last over and made the hosts pay by scoring 22 runs off the remaining 4 balls. Eventually, the Falcons finished with 182/5 in 20 overs. The pick of the bowlers were Mohammad Nabi (1/23) and Imran Tahir (1/21).
The chase started on a very good note for Guyana. Both Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mavendra Dindyal tore into the new ball pairing of Alzarri Joseph and Jayden Seales. They stitched 33 runs in only 2.1 overs and gave their team a headstart. However, that is when Alzarri bounced back. He firstly knocked over Gurbaz for 18 off 8. 3 balls later he bounced Shai Hope for a duck leaving the hosts at 34/2. Dindyal continued to find boundaries from the other end before Alzarri had him caught at mid on for 25 off 13.
