Australia knocks Harmanpreet Kaur’s India out of T20 World Cup 2026
Australia steamrolled India Women by six wickets in just 19 overs in match 30 of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup at Lord’s in London. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur blasted 56 off just 27 balls as India mounted 170-4 in 20 overs.
However, half-centuries from all-rounders Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner ensured Australia knocked India from the tournament’s semifinal race.

Deepti Sharma creates history
Indian spinner Deepti Sharma dismissed Australian opener Beth Mooney in match number 30 of the ICC Women’s 2026 T20 World Cup. Through her spell, the all-rounder surpassed legendary former fast bowler Jhulan Goswami to become the leading wicket-taker in international women’s cricket.
Deepti is currently sitting on an illustrious pile of 356 international wickets. Notably, the star all-rounder also became the leading wicket-taker in Women’s T20Is just earlier this month during the ongoing tournament itself.
Ben Stokes announces retirement from international cricket
England Test captain Ben Stokes announced his retirement from international cricket. The legendary all-rounder confirmed the same around the halfway stage of Day 4 of England’s series-deciding third Test against New Zealand at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
Just a few weeks ago, Stokes was also involved in a controversial nightclub incident with teammate Gus Atkinson. The incident and its aftermath might well have prompted Stokes to step down from the international game.
New low for Shreyas as Ireland end India’s T20I juggernaut
Ireland pipped world champions Team India by a run in the second T20I in Belfast to seal the two-match series 2-0. The outcome not only marked Ireland’s first-ever series win against India, but also India’s first-ever T20I series defeat since August 2023, i.e., after nearly three years. Since then, India has recorded 16 series wins in a row, which included two T20 World Cup wins and an Asia Cup title.
Shreyas Iyer and co. managed to aggregate just 153-9 from 20 overs while chasing Ireland’s 154-8.
Amir Jangoo’s West Indies decimate Sri Lanka
West Indies routed Sri Lanka by an innings and 217 runs at North Sound in the first Test of their two-match series. Amir Jangoo won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for plundering 233 runs in the first West Indies innings from 373 balls in his comeback Test.
Kemar Roach picked four wickets in the decisive innings of the match to fold up Sri Lanka for just 101 in 31.2 overs.
