Nitish Rana was traded by the Delhi Capitals with a lot of hope, but it took him more than three matches to settle in properly before the left-handed batter exploded and showed his real class in the IPL. He failed in the initial few IPL 2026 matches, and was also dropped from the playing XI midway.
However, the world saw a different Nitish Rana after he was once again brought back into the team by the DC management, and he repaid the faith by once again scoring runs.
His best came against the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2026 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, as Rana, who batted at number 3, blasted the Punjab Kings bowlers to all corners of the park, and took a particular liking towards Australian pacer, Xavier Bartlett.
Nitish Rana makes mockery of Bartlett with 28-run over
In the 12th over, captain Shreyas Iyer gave the ball to Bartlett, and the move turned out to be a disaster as the Aussie bowler was taken to the cleaners with utmost ease. The fast bowler had no clue as Rana made a mockery of him, and smacked the pacer for 28 runs in a single over.
The over started with a gigantic six, followed by a boundary. It was then followed by back-to-back boundaries by Rana as Bartlett was made to look like a schoolboy. The over ended with a boundary, and a six as Bartlett went for plenty.

Nitish Rana, KL Rahul make mockery of Punjab attack
Pathum Nissanka was dismissed early by the Punjab Kings side, and that was the last time they felt happy in the PBKS Vs DC IPL 2026 match. KL Rahul was dropped by Shashank Singh early in his innings, and that drop proved to be a huge mistake as Rahul went onto score his 6th IPL century.
While Rahul went berserk at one end, Nitish wasn’t left far behind as he, too, attacked the PBKS bowlers and smacked a brilliant 91 off 44 deliveries, with a strike rate of 206.82.
The duo added 220 runs for the second wicket, and this was the second-highest partnership for any wicket in the IPL.
