Veteran Bangladesh bowler Mustafizur Rahman scripted history in the Pakistan Super League after being discarded from the IPL 2026.
The BCCI terminated Mustafizur Rahman's IPL 2026 contract amid the geopolitical disturbance between India and Bangladesh.
This prevented Mustafizur from participating in the tournament despite being picked by Kolkata Knight Riders for the marquee event.
However, soon after he was snubbed from the IPL 2026, Mustafizur secured a lucrative deal with defending champions Lahore Qalandars for the PSL.
The left-arm speedster, who recently went past Mohammad Amir on an elite list, once again grabbed the limelight, adding another phenomenal milestone to his tally.

Mustafizur Rahman, who lost an IPL contract worth INR 9.20 crores, joined the Lahore Qalandars for the PSL this season. He has been impressive with the ball in the Pakistan T20 league, scalping crucial breakthroughs for his franchise.
Overall, the Bangladesh speedster has bagged four wickets for the defending champions at a strike rate of 19 and an economy of 7.08.
Although he went wicketless in Lahore Qalandars' most recent match against Islamabad United, Mustafizur managed to create a remarkable record during the game.

The Bangladesh pace spearhead is hailed for his accuracy and ability to deceive batters with cutters and slow balls. When he made his debut for the Tigers, the Indian batters found Mustafizur incredibly difficult to read, courtesy of his well-disguised slower ball.

Apart from bamboozling the batters with his variations, Mustafizur can also keep the opposition under the pump by hitting the deck hard. These attributes make him a potent weapon for the middle and slog overs in T20 cricket.
Therefore, the left-arm pacer bowls a lot of dot balls, with the batters aiming to play out his spells with more caution than aggression.
He bowled three dots in his two-over spell against Islamabad United, thereby being the fifth player to deliver 3000 dots in the shortest format.
