Mohammad Nabi bulldozed the Jamaica Kingsmen with a match-winning spell for Guyana Amazon Warriors at Sabina Park in Kingston. Bowling alongside fellow seasoned spinner Imran Tahir, Nabi scalped four Kingsmen wickets at an expense of just 22 runs from his four economical overs. 

Fresh from his ‘Player of the Series’ performance for the same franchise in the recently-concluded Global Super League, the 41-year-old bagged another ‘Player of the Match’ award in the Caribbean. Through the course of his spell, the legendary Afghanistan all-rounder also entered an elite CPL company.

Mohammad Nabi steamrolled the Jamaica Kingsmen franchise with a match-winning four-wicket haul in match number six of the CPL 2026 season. Nabi’s spell marked the second-best bowling figures ever recorded against the Kingsmen franchise in CPL history.

Now while Kingsmen’s CPL history is barely one-week old, Nabi’s performance was nonetheless remarkable, as the veteran spinner produced a spell of remarkable control and precision to dismantle the franchise’s batting lineup. Mohammad Nabi builds on GSL success with Amazon Warriors

Just a couple of weeks ago, Nabi orchestrated a huge win for the Guyana Amazon Warriors franchise to lift the Global Super League 2026 title in Providence. The cricketer picked up three wickets in the final to bundle out the San Francisco Unicorns for just 79 while defending 86 runs.

The former Afghanistan captain also won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award for the Warriors for scoring 53 runs and picking up 10 wickets in the competition. 

Will Mohammad Nabi play 2027 World Cup for Afghanistan

Mohammad Nabi, aged 41, recently toured India for a three-match ODI series. Currently playing only white-ball internationals for Afghanistan, it remains to be seen if the seasoned all-rounder can prolong his career up until October next year to play the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in South Africa.

If Nabi plays the tournament, his presence will certainly provide a huge boost to the Afghanistan team owing to his vast experience and formidable all-round dexterity.
