The West Indies vs Pakistan first Test has been evenly poised, with both sides putting their best foot forward to win. It has not been the most high-scoring game, with bowlers from both sides dominating the proceedings.
From the West Indian team, Justin Greaves has been the stand-out bowler, and for the visiting side, Mohammad Abbas continues to increase his stocks as he goes past the great Imran Khan to attain a huge feat.
Greaves dismantles Pakistan to bag a never-before-attained feat
West Indies scored 311 in their first innings, and in reply, Pakistan were cruising, courtesy of a stellar century from Shan Masood. At one stage, it looked like the Asian side would post a total in excess of 400 before Greaves put a stop to it and dismantled the Pakistan middle-order batters.
He was at his absolute best with the red ball in hand, and from over number 64 to 72, he wreaked havoc, and in the five overs he bowled, the pacer didn’t even concede a single run and managed to scalp five wickets.
He became the first bowler in Test history to bowl five consecutive maidens and also managed to scalp a fifer. In each of his five overs, he registered a wicket as he completed the unique feat of five maidens in a row and five wickets as well.

Pakistan's Mohammad Abbas surpasses Imran Khan
Greaves was outstanding with the ball, and then it was time for the Mohammad Abbas show as the right-arm seamer pushed the Windies on the back foot with a 3-wicket haul.
In the process, he became the Pakistan bowler with the lowest average in Test cricket (minimum 100 wickets).

Mohammad Abbas' Test career at a glance
Abbas has played 30 Tests for Pakistan, and while he may not possess the pace to wreak havoc against the batters, the pacer has immaculate control over lines and lengths and that makes him a potent weapon in red-ball cricket.
In his short career, Abbas has picked up 116 wickets, with an average of 22.78. Before the Test match against the West Indies, he had an average of 23.23, but now, it has dropped to 22.78.
Abbas’ stint in the English County Championship has also helped his bowling as the seamer has been one of the greatest overseas players in the Championship, and English conditions require him to bowl at consistent lines and lengths.
Pakistan vs West Indies Test hangs in balance
Pakistan posted 282 in their first innings as the Windies had a decent lead heading into the second innings. However, on a wicket that assisted the pacers, the home side crumbled.
At the end of Day 3 of the first Test match, the hosts were in a tricky position (126-7), and the team had a slender lead of 155 runs.
The Test match is evenly poised, and the West Indies side will aim to take their lead past the 200-run mark as chasing might become tough in the fourth innings.
