Punjab Kings are the real deal in the ongoing IPL 2026 tournament. The team has a weak bowling attack, but there is no doubt that the PBKS side has the most destructive batting lineup in the entire competition. Right from the openers to the middle order players, the squad is filled with explosive batters.

In the IPL 2026 match between PBKS and DC, the hosts, Delhi Capitals made a mockery of the Punjab Kings bowling attack, as KL Rahul became the first Indian batter to score 150 in an IPL innings, while Nitish Rana barely missed out on a deserving hundred.

The Capitals posted 264/2 in their allotted 20 overs, and the Shreyas Iyer-led PBKS side had a mountain to climb. However, there is a reason why many call Punjab as the firm favourites for the IPL 2026 title. They decimated the DC attack, and chased down the total without breaking a sweat.

The Capitals batted first, and despite losing the early wicket of Nissanka, the run-feast never stopped as KL Rahul and Nitish Rana took down the PBKS attack with utmost ease. Rahul was dropped by Shashank Singh early in his innings, and the DC opener made them pay with an unbeaten 152 off 67.

Courtesy of his record-breaking knock, DC posted their highest-ever IPL total, 264/2. In reply, Prabhsimran Singh, and Priyansh Arya added 126 runs for the first wicket inside 7 overs. Arya scored 43, while Prabhsimran slammed 76.

Captain Shreyas Iyer provided the finishing touches as he remained unbeaten at 71, and steered his side past the winning line.
