GT predicted playing XI Vs LSG [Source: AP]
Gujarat Titans have blown hot and cold in the IPL 2026 so far, with the majority of their players not being at their best. The franchise sits in seventh position, with just a solitary win out of three. The Shubman Gill-led side won their last game against the Delhi Capitals, and they’ll be aiming to continue the winning run.
GT’s next game will be against the rampant Lucknow Super Giants, who have won their last two matches. In the away contest, the Titans will start as the second favourites, but the team will have faith in their famed batting lineup to do the damage.
With a riveting clash against LSG on Sunday, and GT’s lineup a bit shaky, here is how the former IPL champions could lineup in the away fixture at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.
GT's strongest playing XI Vs LSG- IPL 2026
Openers and top order: Shubman Gill(c), Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler
GT has the most settled top three in the IPL, with captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan leading the charge for the side. The duo is yet to click as they have worked well in patches, but the consistency is still missing from their batting.
However, expect the duo to fire all guns blazing, as GT needs their two best players to deliver the goods in front of the LSG bowlers.
GT can breathe a sigh of relief with Jos Buttler back amongst the run-getters, and the hard-hitting English batter will play at number 3. In the last match vs DC, he changed the complexion of the game with his aggressive batting, and Buttler will once again play a key role against the LSG squad.
Middle order and all-rounders: Washington Sundar, Glenn Phillips, Shahrukh Khan, Rahul Tewatia
GT is not known for making too many changes in their playing XI, and expect the team to go in with the same middle-order that played vs DC. Washington Sundar scored a fifty vs the Capitals in the last match, and as a result, he’ll once again play at number 4.
The only logical change that the Gujarat Titans could make is dropping Glenn Phillips from the main XI. The Kiwi batter has not been at his best and has yet to deliver for the team. Jason Holder can replace him in the playing XI, but that would mean GT’s batting would become weaker.
As a result, they might be tempted to give Phillips one more chance. Shahrukh Khan, and Rahul Tewatia will work as GT’s finishers, and the duo will have the responsibility to steer the team to a competitive total.
Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj, Ashok Sharma
Rashid Khan was back amongst the wicket-takers in the last IPL match vs Delhi Capitals, and against the LSG batters, who struggle against the spinners, Rashid will hold the key in the middle-overs.
Mohammed Siraj has blown hot and cold in IPL 2026, but GT will back him to play in the playing XI Vs LSG. Kagiso Rabada and Ashok Sharma will be the other two lead pacers for the Titans, with Prasidh Krishna coming in as an impact player, if GT bowls second.
