Nothing is going right for the Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars in the PSL 2026. After a promising start, the team has slipped to 6th in the points tally and has failed to deliver in recent PSL matches. In their last match against Islamabad United, the team suffered a crushing defeat, and now, they find themselves in a do-or-die situation in the tournament.
The PSL 2026 has been nothing short of controversial for the Qalandars, as their star player, Fakhar Zaman, was involved in ball-tampering allegations and, as a result, was banned from two important matches.
Apart from Fakhar, another trouble has landed in Lahore Qalandars’ camp as one of their star player has been ruled out of the tournament at a crucial juncture.
Shaheen's key member ruled out of PSL 2026
The Lahore Qalandars will take on Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi in Saturday’s afternoon game, and ahead of the mega contest, the defending PSL champions suffered a major jolt as Bangladesh opener and Qalandars star, Parvez Emon, will miss the remainder of the PSL 2026 due to a shoulder injury.
Emon suffered the injury during Lahore’s PSL game against Multan Sultans on April 3, following a collision on the field with Asif Ali.
An MRI scan revealed a ligament damage tear in his shoulder, and the doctors advised him to rest for the next few weeks.
The franchise has released the Bangladesh player from the PSL squad, and a replacement will be announced soon by the Shaheen-led franchise.
Parvez Emon's journey in PSL 2026
Parvez Emon was called in the Lahore Qalandars playing XI when Fakhar Zaman was suspended for two matches, and the team needed a solid replacement. The Bangladesh opener had a decent PSL 2026 tournament as he showed glimpses of his brilliance with the bat.
Despite a short stint with the franchise, Emon looked settled in as he scored 71 runs in three matches, and that too with an impressive strike rate of 161.36. His best performance came up against the Multan Sultans, when he scored a gritty 45 runs on a tricky surface.
He was a long-term prospect for the Qalandars in the PSL, but the shoulder injury derailed his PSL 2026 journey as he got ruled out.

Why Qalandars will miss Emon in PSL 2026
An aggressive batter at the top, the left-handed player was one of the best buys for the Shaheen Afridi-led side in the PSL. He warmed the bench for the initial few matches, but Fakhar’s suspension gave him a chance to perform with the bat.
He brought an aggressive mindset to the top for his PSL franchise, and that aggression would be missed by the team. His ability to take down any attack with utmost ease was second to none, and this would be dearly missed by the Qalandars.
Fakhar Zaman will replace him for the remainder of PSL, but can he do the job that Emon did to perfection?
