Gujarat Titans will host KKR in the 60th match of the IPL 2026 season on Saturday, May 16. The game will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at 7:30 PM IST.

Both teams are fighting for the playoff spot currently. For KKR, the odds are slim as they need to win all their remaining three fixtures while also hoping that the teams above them in the points table lose significantly.

On the other hand, GT are in a much better place. With 8 wins in 12 games, they are seated at the second spot on the points table. At 16 points, the Titans are favourites to finish in the top four.

However, with the playoff race getting tougher, GT cannot take things lightly. They must win this upcoming contest to formally book their spot in the knockouts.

As for momentum, the Gujarat Titans recently beat SRH in a one-sided clash. Defending 168 runs, GT bowled out Sunrisers Hyderabad for just 86 runs, thus winning the game by 82 runs.

Meanwhile, ahead of the high-stakes clash, let’s see what would be GT’s strongest playing XI.

GT Playing XI vs KKR - IPL 2026, Match 60

Top Order - Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler

Gujarat Titans’ top order has been their biggest strength of the GT Playing XI in IPL 2026. Sai Sudharsan is ranked second on the Orange Cap list with 501 runs from 12 games at an average of 41.75, including a century.

Captain Shubman Gill has been equally impressive, scoring 467 runs at an average of 42.25. Jos Buttler has been inconsistent at times. Still, his presence only adds value to the batting unit.

He has the ability to win any game single-handedly on a given day. Hence, GT’s top order is locked and won’t be altered.

Middle Order - Washington Sundar, Nishant Sindhu, Jason Holder, Rahul Tewatia

Washington Sundar’s promotion in the middle order has worked like a charm as the all-rounder has scored 296 runs, including two half-centuries that came under pressure.

Nishant Sindhu did show some promise in the last game by scoring 22 off 14 balls, and he will be backed in the GT Playing XI vs KKR for his potential. Furthermore, Jason Holder and Rahul Tewatia will play as finishers.

Both can hit the ball cleanly and add crucial runs in the death overs. Overall, GT’s middle order also looks settled.

Bowlers - Rashid Khan, Sai Kishore, Kagiso Rabada, and Mohammed Siraj

As for spinners, Rashid Khan has picked up 16 wickets this season at an average of 21.38. He has been expensive at times, but his wicket-taking ability will discourage GT from dropping him at this stage.

Also, Arshad Khan has been barely used by GT in the last game. Instead, the Titans can try playing Sai Kishore. He is a smart spinner who can trap any batter with the right set of skills and plans.

As for fast bowling, Kagiso Rabada has been the standout player for the Gujarat Titans, picking up 21 wickets in 12 games at an average of 20.05. Mohammed Siraj is also not behind at 13 wickets with a 27.85 average.

Overall, Gujarat should make only one change in the GT Playing XI vs KKR.
