The Lucknow Super Giants will host the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 50 of the season at the Ekana Stadium on May 7, 7:30 PM (IST), as they fight for their survival in IPL 2026.

Having played 9 matches each, LSG are at the rock-bottom of the points table with two wins and 7 losses, while RCB are second with 6 wins and 3 losses. A loss here could be the final nail in LSG’s coffin this season as they sit at the brink of elimination.

In the last match, their squad was bolstered by Josh Inglis, who was out of the first 8 matches of the season, and Nicholas Pooran found his form as well; however, they still failed to clinch the fixture against the Mumbai Indians.

Mitchell Marsh, with 256 runs in 9 innings at a strike rate of 139.13, is their leading run-getter in IPL 2026. On the other hand, their bowling attack has done relatively well, led by Prince Yadav’s 13 wickets in 9 innings and Mohsin Khan’s impressive new-ball bowling, picking 10 wickets at an economy of just over 7 runs per over.

As they take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru, we take a look at the best LSG Playing XI for the match.

LSG Playing XI vs RCB- IPL 2026, Match 50

Top-Order: Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis, Nicholas Pooran

Mitchell Marsh has lately been fired for the Super Giants, taking his season’s tally to 256 runs in 9 innings at a strike rate of 139.13 and will remain as their first-choice opener. Josh Inglis, who joined the team in the last match, picked up an injury while fielding in the second innings; however, considering no further update on the injury, he is likely to play again with Marsh.

Nicholas Pooran was finally promoted to his best position in the LSG Playing XI and was off the hook with a blistering 63 (21) with 8 sixes and a four. He will continue at number 3 again against RCB.

Middle-Order and All Rounders: Rishabh Pant (c) (wk), Aiden Markram, Akshat Raghuwanshi, Himmat Singh

Captain and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant will be back at number 4 in the LSG Playing XI vs RCB after a 15 (10) in the last match. Much like number 5, Aiden Markram, he has batted in multiple positions this season and failed to score big totals.

Pant has 204 runs in 9 innings at an underwhelming 128.30 with a fifty to his name, while Markram has 224 runs at 140.88, often looking as their best bat.

Akshat Raghuwanshi, who made his debut last match with a first-ball six, will accompany Himmat Singh as the designated finishers. Their cameos help the team reach 228/5 vs MI, although they lost the match.

Bowlers: Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan, Prince Yadav, Digvesh Rathi

The pace-bowling trio of Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan and Prince Yadav will remain intact for another home match against RCB.

Prince Yadav is their best bowler of the season with 13 wickets at an economy just over 8.06 runs per over and the best figures of 3/32, while Mohsin Khan has operated the new-ball masterfully for his 10 scalps in just 5 innings at an economy rate of 7.45 runs per over and a five-wicket haul to his name.

Shami, who started IPL 2026 impressively, has faded off after the first few matches and sits third with 8 wickets in 9 innings at 8.65 rpo this season. After Avesh Khan’s expensive bowling and considering Lucknow’s pitch, Digvesh Rathi is likely to play his 7th match of the season. Even Rathi has failed to impact matches so far and has 3 scalps in 6 innings.

LSG Playing XI vs RCB- IPL 2026, Match 50: Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (c) (wk), Aiden Markram, Akshat Raghuwanshi, Himmat Singh, Mohammed Shami, Mohsin Khan, Prince Yadav, Digvesh Rathi.
