Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators will lock horns against each other in Match 9 of PSL 2026 on April 2, Thursday. The clash will be live for fans to watch from 3:00 PM IST at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Islamabad United vs Quetta Gladiators Preview

Islamabad United are still searching for their first win in PSL 2026, with one no-result and one loss from their first two games. With just one point, they are struggling, with both bat and ball, and will be eager to turn things around in this crucial match.

On the other hand, Quetta Gladiators have had a mixed start, with one win and one loss in their first two outings. Sitting mid-table with two points and a good net run rate, they will look to build momentum and strengthen their position with a strong performance in this fixture.

Top Order - Devon Conway, Sameer Minhas, Andries Gous

Devon Conway and Sameer Minhas gave Islamabad United a solid start in their opening match, and is expected to continue at the top. Their ability to set the perfect foundation early with the bat can be very significant for Islamabad United in the upcoming fixture.

Andries Gous, the wicket-keeper, struggled to get going in the opening game, but is likely to start at number three. A team like Islamabad United won’t drop a player after just one game, especially from such a key position. Gous’ playing style suits this role, and he will be crucial in constructing the innings.

Middle Order - Mark Chapman, Haider Ali, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf

In the middle-order, Mark Chapman continue to be the perfect option for number 4. The left-hander has been in great form, having scored 40 off 21 balls in the last game, so there is no reason to change his position. His performance makes him a key player in this role during the middle-overs.

At number 5, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan may want to consider stepping aside for Haider Ali who has been in strong form and is striking the ball very well, while Shadab has struggled with the bat for a while now and could only manage 4 runs off 5 balls in the last game.

Faheem Ashraf will then come in at 7 as a finisher after Shadab. Faheem can change the game pretty quickly with his cameos like he played one in the last game, scoring 26 off 17 balls with a good strike rate that can win games for his side from tough situations.

Bowlers - Imad Wasim, Salman Mirza, Salman Irshad, Richard Gleeson

Coming to the bowling department, Imad Wasim will continue to support captain Shadab Khan with his left-arm spin. Wasim had a solid outing in the previous match, picking up one wicket with a reasonable economy rate of 7.80.

Salman Mirza, who led the pace attack, had an off day against Multan Sultans, conceding 49 runs in just 3 overs. Despite being expensive, there are no better alternatives, so Mirza is likely to continue, provided he performs better in the upcoming matches.

Salman Irshad and Richard Gleeson are the other two pace options for Islamabad United. Both bowlers performed well in the last game, maintaining economy rates below 8.0. Given the lack of depth in their squad, Islamabad is unlikely to make changes to their pace attack.
