Afghanistan has won the first two T20I matches of the series, and the Asian side will look to clean sweep the Zimbabwean side as the two teams lock horns in the third T20I match on Sunday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The ongoing series has witnessed high-scoring contests, with twin centurions in the last match as Azmatullah Omarzai and Sikandar Raza ran riot with the bat. Ahead of the 3rd T20I, here is Afghanistan's playing XI as they aim for a clean sweep.
Openers and top order: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (WK), Ibrahim Zadran (C), Sediqullah Atal
The Afghans have two solid openers, with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran set to open in the 3rd T20I against Zimbabwe. However, the duo have failed to deliver the goods in the first two matches, but the Afghan side would hope the pair can return amongst the run-getters in the series finale.
The same has been the case with Afghanistan’s number 3 batter, Sediqullah Atal. The explosive batter has lacked runs in the ongoing series, but he will be given another chance at the designated position to showcase his prowess.
Middle order and all-rounders: Mohammad Akram Zazai, Shahidullah Kamal, Azmatullah Omarzai, Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai
Mohammad Akram Zazai, an explosive middle-order player will be a key component for the Afghanistan team in the 3rd T20I. He has the ability to take the game away from Zimbabwe, and he'll be eager to get some runs under his belt.
Shahidullah Kamal scored 46 in the first T20I, but his strike-rate has come under scrutiny. The Player will hope he can silence his critics with a big knock against the Chevrons in the next match on Sunday.

Rashid Khan created history in the last game by becoming the first bowler to take 200 T20I wickets. He has picked up 3 wickets in the last two matches and will be the danger bowler for the Zimbabwean batters.
Fazalhaq Farooqi’s left-arm angle could cause trouble for the Zimbabwean batters in the 3rd T20I. He can swing the ball both ways, and the Afghan seamer will be the key for his side in the powerplay.
Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be the second spinner in the playing XI alongside Rashid Khan, and in the two T20I matches so far, he has only scalped 2 wickets, and he’ll be hoping to end the tour with better statistics on Sunday.
Abdullah Ahmadzai has two wickets in the solitary innings in the ongoing series, and Afghanistan will heavily rely on him to take the Zimbabwean wickets in the third T20I match.
