Why Can't Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Drive His Tata Sierra SUV?

In IPL 2026, Vaibhav received a Tata Sierra SUV after winning the Super Striker of the Season award.

At just 15 years of age, Sooryavanshi is not legally allowed to drive a car in India. According to Indian motor vehicle regulations, an individual must be at least 18 years old to obtain a driving licence for a private car or other Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs).

Although teenagers aged 16 can ride certain gearless two-wheelers with limited engine capacity, driving a car remains restricted until the age of 18.

This means that Vaibhav will have to wait another three years before he can legally drive this car.

What Did Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Say About Winning the IPL Prize Car?

Following the IPL season, Rajasthan Royals shared a light-hearted video on social media featuring team manager Romi Bhinder and Sooryavanshi.

During the conversation, Bhinder asked the young player about the car he had won during the tournament.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's response quickly went viral among fans.

"3 saal baad tak rakhunga. Abhi to licence aane do, uske baad chalaunga."

(I will keep it for three years. Let my driving licence come first, then I will drive it.)

He then jokingly added:

"Papa ko bolunga chalane, bagal mein baithunga."

("I will ask my father to drive it, and I will sit next to him.")

Why Can't Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Advertise Cars?

Despite being one of the biggest stars of IPL 2026, Sooryavanshi has several restrictions when it comes to advertising certain products, especially cars. The primary reason is that he is a minor.

Since Vaibhav is only 15 years old, he is not legally eligible to obtain a driving licence in India. He is also not able to advertise because that might promote underage driving.

It is important to note that Sooryavanshi also cannot advertise certain financial services, gaming platforms, men’s grooming products, and other age-sensitive categories.
