Why Rajasthan Royals Wore 'Pink Promise Jersey' (Source: AFP)
Rajasthan Royals on Saturday wore a different jersey while playing Gujarat Titans in Match 52 of IPL 2026 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The jersey is pink, but not the usual one which they wear week in and week out.
However, this is not the first time RR wore this unusual Pink jersey. And whenever they play it, they rename the match as the ‘Pink Promise’ match.
What Is Pink Promise Match? Know In Detail
As mentioned on the Rajasthan Royals' official website, the inaugural IPL champions wear this jersey to promote the women-led social change in Rajasthan.
“Rajasthan Royals use cricket to develop permanent benefits for rural areas through the programs which empower women and support sustainable development initiatives,” a RR media statement read.
More significantly, the design of this jersey was created by a 19-year-old, Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada, from Nashik. Rajasthan Royals run a campaign, where the motto is “Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai."
No Riyan Parag In Pink Promise Match
In another significant development, Rajasthan Royals won’t have Riyan Parag in their Pink Promise Jersey. Parag sustained a hamstring injury and was ruled out of the RR vs GT IPL 2026 match.

In his absence, Yashasvi Jaiswal became Rajasthan Royals captain, the eighth person to take the charge for RR. He has never led any IPL franchise before the GT game, although he was partially the RR leader when Parag was off the field against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.
Rajasthan Royals IPL 2026 Journey At A Glance
Under Riyan Parag, Rajasthan Royals have won six matches out of their 10 attempts in IPL 2026. They are currently placed fourth on the points table, and a victory over Gujarat Titans could take them to second on the chart.
Rajasthan began the IPL 2026 season with four matches on the trot, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Gujarat Titans (GT), Mumbai Indians (MI) and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Then they lost the mojo, losing three of their next four matches before getting back the momentum against red-hot Punjab Kings. However, they lost to Delhi Capitals before coming to this fixture.
After the Gujarat Titans match, RR will play against Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians to complete the IPL 2026 league stage. If they qualify for the IPL playoffs, the dates are set, as announced by the BCCI a few days ago.
