Both Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi are from the state of Bihar. While one has achieved some of the most unparalleled feats in the world of cricket, another one, Vaibhav, is currently on the rise as the 15-year-old is navigating his way through the England tour after some disappointing outings.

Dhoni have never spoken about Vaibhav earlier, but ahead of the fifth T20I vs England, cricket journalist Vimal Kumar shared what MS Dhoni thinks of the Bihar-born talent.

Sooryavanshi in the midst of a dismal England tour

For the unaware, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has not been in the best of his form after making his debut against England in the second T20I. Sooryavanshi hasn't managed to show the prowess that he usually displays in IPL games.

From the three matches he has played till now, he has scored only 42 runs while averaging 14.00. However, that is a very sharp dip in form since the Tri-Series played in Sri Lanka, Sooryavanshi averaged 42.20 from five matches while striking at 200.95, which included a 29-ball 94 and some record-shattering innings.

Nevertheless, on July 7, the birthday of Dhoni, the cricketer disclosed his opinions on Sooryavanshi for the very first time.

As the cricket journalist Vimal Kumar met MS Dhoni, he asked whether he had met Sooryavanshi or not, since they both come from the same state.

Dhoni replied that they hadn't met formally but had crossed paths one time, though they hadn't had the opportunity to meet and talk to each other.

Later, Dhoni shared, “Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has a very bright future since the whole world is watching how he has been doing, the youngster has the ability to shine.”

The world awaits yet another glorious knock from the Rajasthan Royals superstar. Sooryavanshi has been struggling with his form. Perhaps the England debut isn't what he expected.

What went wrong for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in England?

The English soil is creating trouble for Sooryavanshi to properly face the pace of the England bowlers. The extra bounce is surely troubling the Indian batters who are used to flatter pitches in their own country while playing T20Is.

Sooryavanshi's biggest challenge has been that surprise bounce on the pitch, which has made him play poor shots and led to his early dismissals.

However, this has been the story for almost every established Indian batter in the top order. Ishan Kishan has struggled in both the England and Ireland tour.

India's top order struggled against England

Shreyas Iyer has been the top scorer with 190 runs from four matches at an average of 63.33. Abhishek Sharma has been disappointing with an average of 32 but has had an impressive strike rate of 185.5.

Ishan Kishan, one of the most prominent top-order firepowers for India, has managed only 66 runs against England at an average of 16.5.

With the top order getting humiliated and only one match remaining, it is very likely that Gautam Gambhir and the team management would like to keep the playing XI formation almost the same for the last match of the series with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi getting his spot.

Now after the series is lost, in the final match, India would only have to redeem their disappointments by playing good cricket, with the match being scheduled on July 11 at the Rose Bowl, Southampton.
