The Harmanpreet Kaur Bhullar-led Team India's campaign was limited to the group stages in the recently concluded Women's T20 World Cup 2026, where England Women finished as the runners-up. The two powerhouses will take on each other in the first-ever Women's Test at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground, to be played between July 10 and 13.

The host team were flawless in the marquee event under Nat Sciver-Brunt's leadership. They played six unbeaten games in the tournament, but lost lopsidedly to the undefeated Australia Women in the big final. 

The hard loss brought the curtains down on Tammy Beaumont's legendary career, while the historic Test match will be her last dance. Eleanor Threlkeld, Maia Bouchier and Mady Villiers are included for the one-off match. However, the bulk of the lifting will be handled by Nat Sciver-Brunt, Heather Knight, Sophie Ecclestone and Lauren Bell. 

On the flip side, India's Pratika Rawal was ruled out of the Test match two days before the mega clash. Meanwhile, the Women in Blue, despite getting knocked out of the T20 World Cup, seem like a strong unit, especially with Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Shefali Verma and Richa Ghosh in their ranks.
