As Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) demolished the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, local boy Virat Kohli conquered at his home. Although RCB's bowlers made the night memorable for their fans, a little boy got his heart broken because of Virat Kohli.
On Monday, RCB were too hot to hand for DC, the home team couldn't stand up after Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar's opening spell. Delhi were once reduced to 8/6, but the small partnership between Abishek Porel's efforts ensured they don't muster for the lowest-ever IPL total. Although they ended their innings for 75 runs.
The Bengaluru batters didn't waste any time in the chase as they chased down the target in 6.3 runs after losing just one wicket, with Virat Kohli spanking successive maximums to finish the game.

Although it was the hotel management that didn't allow the kid to meet his idol. Usually, players have extremely hectic schedules during the IPL, especially after a game, as they have an early call time in the morning despite a late logout.
As the poor boy missed the million-dollar chance, he cried his heart out and threw his bat in the hotel lobby in anger.

Delhi fans treated with Virat Kohli's best briefly

Moreover, he was at his electric best on the field, as the RCB bowlers were running through the Delhi batting order. For Bengaluru, Josh Hazlewood snapped four wickets, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged three scalps. Additionally, Rasikh Salam, Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya also chipped in a piece.
Can IPL 2026 final have rematch of 2025?
With just a massive victory over the DC, RCB have had a major boost in their Net Run Rate, which now reads +1.919 - the best for any team currently. After eight games, the defending champions are sitting in second place, with six wins and two losses. Bengaluru are just behind the Punjab Kings, who have yet to break a sweat, on the points table.
The way things are panning out, we may witness a rematch of the previous final this year as well, with RCB and PBKS playing some extraordinary brand of cricket.
