Records are meant to be broken, and one player who has done it consistently in the IPL is Virat Kohli. In Match 39 of IPL 2026, between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Virat Kohli achieved another historic milestone in the IPL.
The match began with RCB’s bowlers taking full control right from the start. Delhi Capitals had a disastrous outing with the bat, struggling to handle the pace and accuracy of RCB’s attack. DC managed just 13 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the powerplay (the lowest powerplay score ever recorded in IPL history).
Delhi Capitals created unwanted record
Leading the charge for RCB was Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood, who delivered an outstanding spell, picking up four crucial wickets.
He was well supported by Indian swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who claimed three wickets and kept the pressure on DC throughout the innings.
Delhi Capitals never recovered from the early collapse. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals, and the team was eventually bowled out for just 75 runs in 16.3 overs. Despite their poor performance, DC avoided the embarrassment of recording the lowest team total in IPL history.

Chasing a modest target of 76, RCB got off to a steady start. Opener Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal played sensibly, ensuring there were no surprises in the chase.
After 6 overs, RCB had comfortably reached 65 for the loss of just one wicket, putting them firmly in control of the match. Virat Kohli looked in fine touch, while Padikkal provided solid support at the other end.
