The teenage sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, found himself in controversy on Monday evening in Dambulla, as he got into a ruckus with Sri Lankan players after a cutthroat battle between India A and Sri Lanka A.
This is after India had already beaten the hosts by 8 runs in the first One Day of the ongoing tri-series. Sri Lanka managed to take a revenge but things heated up after the end of the game, raising eyebrows on the spirit of the game.

The incident took place at the end of the fourth One Day match between India A and Sri Lanka A in Dambulla, as the match went to a super over.
Batting first, India A had scored 265 in the regular game, where Sooryavanshi got 21 off 14 balls with 3 fours and a six. In response, Sri Lanka took the game deep and levelled the score on the final ball of the innings.
The match went into the Super Over, and Sri Lanka finished with 17 runs on the board, which was too much for India, as they only managed 9, without loss. This included a six from Sooryavanshi in three balls. Following his 72(66) in the match, Suryansh Shedge only scored 3* off 3, and India lost the match.

Underwhelming returns for Sooryavanshi
The ongoing tri-series between India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s maiden One Day series for India in any capacity.
Plus, he is coming off an unforgettable IPL season for the Rajasthan Royals, where he racked up 776 runs in 16 innings, sweeping all the major awards at the end of the season.
With a lot of eyeballs on the star opener, many expected him to hit the ground running in 50-over cricket. However, despite keeping a high strike rate of 164.58, Sooryavanshi has only scored 79 runs in 3 innings.
With one final match left before his potential India debut in the tour of Ireland and the UK, he has a chance to keep India A alive in the tri-series, if he thrashes Afghanistan A in a couple of days.
India’s qualification in the tri-series final hangs by a thread
Having lost two matches after starting the series well, India are currently second in the points table, having played one more game than Afghanistan A. Sri Lanka, with two wins in three matches, are placed top of the table and have one match remaining against Sri Lanka A.
Up next, they will face Afghanistan A in a must-win match on June 17 at the same venue. A loss would mean both Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A would automatically qualify for the final of the tri-series, which will be played in Dambulla on June 21.
