In a surprising moment, star pacer Jasprit Bumrah had a rare off day during the MI vs SRH game in IPL 2026. He conceded 54 runs in his 4-over spell and was hit by a rookie for a no-look six.

Batting first, the Mumbai Indians posted a huge total of 243 runs on the board courtesy of Ryan Rickelton’s stunning 123* off 55 balls. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad kept belief and approached the chase with sheer aggression.

Salil Arora takes on Jasprit Bumrah with a huge hit

SRH had the perfect platform in the chase as openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head stitched a 129-run partnership in just 8.4 overs. Heinrich Klaasen carried the momentum forward before Salil Arora arrived to add the finishing touch.

Despite having to face a deadly bowler like Jasprit Bumrah, the youngster approached him with intent.

On the fifth ball of the 18th over, Bumrah bowled a slower delivery, trying to deceive the batter with a change of pace, but missed his length and ended up serving it right in the slot.

Salil Arora read it early, committed fully to the shot, and launched a clean lofted drive over long-off for six. He was so confident in his hit that Arora didn’t even bother to see if it crossed the fence or not.

Jasprit Bumrah, meanwhile, had no response to Salil’s no-look six as he wore a wary smile on his way back to the run-up. The MI pacer finished his spell at 4-0-54, thus going wicketless again.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians had a reality check as Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down 244 runs to win the 41st game of the IPL 2026 season by 6 wickets.

The chase began with Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head smashing 92 runs in the powerplay. Despite Allah Ghazanfar getting back-to-back wickets, Heinrich Klaasen ensured SRH’s run rate didn’t slow down.

He scored 65* off 30 balls while Salil Arora supported him with 30* off just 10 balls, thus guiding SRH to a victory with 8 balls to spare. With that win, Sunrisers Hyderabad climbed to the third spot on the points table with 12 points in 9 games.

Mumbai Indians hit a new low

As for the Mumbai Indians, the IPL 2026 season is just getting worse and worse. This marked their sixth loss of the season, and they remain in the ninth spot with just 4 points in 8 games.

MI did everything right with the bat as Ryan Rickelton hammered his maiden IPL century. However, things went haywire in the chase. Travis Head was dropped twice while MI missed a caught-behind review.

The bowlers looked clueless as Hardik Pandya struggled to put a stop to the rampage. Additionally, Shardul Thakur, who was brought in as an impact player, didn’t bowl a single over, thus raising questions about Pandya’s captaincy.

Overall, the Mumbai Indians have a lot to introspect, as their playoff qualification hopes are getting slimmer day by day.
