Mumbai Indians matches Sunrisers Hyderabad’s feat
Ryan Rickelton was unstoppable on the Wankhede pitch as he smashed SRH bowlers all around the park. He scored his first IPL hundred and stayed till the very end to finish with 123* off 55 balls with 10 fours, 8 sixes and a 223.64 strike rate.
His knock not only helped the Mumbai Indians post a humongous total but also achieved a rare IPL record.
Ryan Rickelton is the third centurion for MI this year after Tilak Varma and Quinton de Kock. The only time a franchise had three different centurions in a single IPL season was SRH in 2025.
That year, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen slammed a century each. Now, the Mumbai Indians are the only second team in IPL history to achieve this rare feat.
This stat suggests that IPL is evolving at a rapid pace, where scoring centuries and large totals have become the norm.
