Frustration grew for Australia, and Mitchell Starc in particular on Day 2 of the 1st Test as Bangladesh took a comprehensive lead in the ongoing Darwin Test. The left-arm seamer got into a heated argument with Mehidy Hasan Miraz as the Tigers comfortably crossed Australia’s 198-run total.
Bangladesh took a 152 runs lead after stumps on Day 2. However, they were 308/6 at one point, and the Aussies had a hope that they might restrict the lead. However, Mehidy Hasan Miraz is looking sharp and has already stitched a 48-run stand for the 7th wicket.
Mitchell Starc Argues with Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Bangladesh’s performance has sent the internet into a frenzy, and even the players are shocked to see Australia’s shambolic display. Meanwhile, Starc, who is having a good day with the ball, got into an argument with Mehidy Hasan Miraz after the latter ran in the danger area.
The incident occurred on the 5th ball of the 103rd over, when Miraz guided Starc’s half-pitched delivery towards the third man and ran for a single. However, the Bangladesh all-rounder ran on the danger area of the pitch that made Starc furious.
Mitchell Starc was caught on the stumping telling Mehidy Hasan Miraz to 'Get off the wicket' after he ran onto the danger zone. The left-arm seamer was really furious and engaged in an altercation with Miraz, also pointing fingers at him.
Umpire Rushes In To Defuse The Situation
Miraz was not happy either as he complained to the umpire that Starc was in his way, which is why he had to run in the middle of the pitch. Eventually, on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena rushed to the spot and asked both the players to stop fighting.
Eventually, Starc returned to his bowling mark-up, but was not happy with the Bangladesh all-rounder. Meanwhile, Kumar Dharmasena still warned Mehidy Hasan Miraz for his first offense.

It is worth noting that the umpire will issue one more warning to Hasan Miraz if he repeats the offence and that would be his last. In case, the 28-year-old runs on the danger line for the third time, then the on-field umpire has the right to award five-run penalty to Australia when they come to bat in the 2nd innings.

While Australia is struggling to tame Bangladesh at home, Mitchell Starc is having a Test to remember. On Thursday, August 13, the left-arm seamer got rid of Shadman Islam and surpassed Rangana Herath to become the leading wicket-taker in Tests by a left-arm bowler.
