Fakhar Zaman has been a terrific player so far in the Pakistan Super League 2026, with more than 170 runs already from five outings for the Lahore Qalandars. It seemed like Rawalpindiz cricket team needed something much more than just skills on the field to upset the Pakistan veteran.
During the Lahore Qalandars vs Rawalpindiz PSL clash at the National Bank Cricket Arena on April 18, Daryl Mitchell, known for already creating some controversies, was seen pulling off an unsporting act on the cricket field, which led to tempers flaring on the ground.
Fakhar Zaman Builds Resilience With The Bat In Front of Rawalpindiz
As Fakhar is currently batting for the Lahore Qalandars and is on a fluent way to his hundred, striking eleven boundaries and one six already, Daryl Mitchell, the New Zealand all-rounder, was seen sledging the batter on the field to nudge him from his stance.
Notably, Zaman opened the batting for his team with Mohammad Farooq, with the latter getting dismissed in the 11th over after the duo found a solid, strong foundation for the team by scoring 121 runs from 65 deliveries.

After Farooq, Abdullah Shafique came into bat, where Fakhar Zaman paired with him too to add 70 runs off 43 deliveries before Shafique was dismissed by Razaullah in the 18th over of the PSL match.
Yet Zaman remained unflinched, and ahead of Shafiq's wicket, Mitchell was seen trying to intimidate Fakhar with a stern stance on the field.

After Zaman hit Mitchell for a boundary in the 14th over, Daryl Mitchell was seen mouthing some words towards Fakhar Zaman.
The batter, though, did not respond immediately and just waved away the confrontation as Daryl Mitchell charged towards him to appear more intimidating, shouting and mouthing some furious words at the cricketer.
As the two faced each other in the PSL match, Zaman seemed to have kept his cool as Mitchell tried to intimidate the batter from the other end to get him to lose his wicket.
While the confrontation was avoided, Fakhar's bat spoke for itself, with the cricketer currently batting at 80+ runs for his team. Courtesy of Zaman, Lahore Qalandars have already gone past the 190-run mark at the time of writing, with one over still left to go.
Fakhar and Mitchell’s PSL 2026 Form
Fakhar Zaman's form in this PSL 2026 has also been impressive, with the batter averaging over 40 from his five outings and striking at 140+.
The same, though, cannot be said for Daryl Mitchell with the ball. The Kiwi all-rounder has taken only three wickets from his five outings while being expensive at a 9.71 economy rate.
With the bat, though, he has been consistent, scoring at an average of 25.67, but at a poor strike rate of 130.51.
