A recent training session video of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan has been doing the rounds across social media platforms since the Pakistan vs Australia T20I series. The video showed both Babar Azam and Rizwan performing warm up drills in nets.

However, what became the fodder for the trollers were the peculiar movements the duo were performing. While stretching their arms and legs and hip joints, both Babar and Rizwan enacted almost like a dance performance that had the internet cackling with laughter.

With many Instagram and other social media platform influencers already making heaps of trolling and mimicking videos on the cricketer’s hilarious warm-up routine, Indian footballer Gurpreet Singh Sandhu dropped a mimic video to join hands in the roasting.

Gurpreet roasts Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan on Instagram

Taking to his official social media handle on Instagram, Sandhu posted a Reel that saw him and his teammates enacting the movements of Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan with similar hand and leg movement while a catchy Bollywood number played in the background.

The video, which was also an edit, showed Gurpreet Singh Sandhu finishing his training drills and mimicking Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. After the clip ended, the video carried a caption reading “inspired by true events”, following which the original clip of Babar Azam and Rizwan performing the hilarious warm-up drills appeared.

The reel quickly went viral and within 24 hours crossed 394K likes on Instagram, with many netizens joining in on the roast. One user commented, “ya to win hai ya to lurn hai”, while another wrote, “Power Rangers warming up”. Another commenter added, “Arey Gurpreet Bhai, please do hesitate yaar”.

Who is Gurpreet Singh Sandhu?

For the unaware, born in February 1992, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu is a legendary Indian goalkeeper who became the first Indian to play in the UEFA Europa League. He was also conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2019 for his outstanding achievements in sports.

Adding to his list of accolades, he won the Indian Super League Golden Glove award in consecutive seasons in 2019 and 2020. Currently, the four-time SAFF Championship winner and Intercontinental Cup winner is playing for the Indian national team and represents Bengaluru FC in the ISL.

Babar Azam's worrisome form continues ahead of T20 World Cup

As footballers and cricketers marched in to roast Babar Azam for his hilarious moves, in a rather shadowy turn, the Pakistan skipper has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.

While his warm-up session with Rizwan went viral, his form with the bat remains a concern for Pakistan ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. In the first T20I, he managed to score 24 runs, but in the following game, Babar Azam fell for just two runs in the second T20I.

In the Big Bash League, Babar Azam also endured a below-par run with the bat. Playing for the Sydney Sixers, he managed only 202 runs from 11 innings, striking at a modest 103.06.

With Pakistan eager to clinch their second ICC T20 World Cup title, Babar Azam will need to rediscover his form if the team hopes to see their dependable top-order batter lay strong foundations in the tournament.

Pakistan are set to play their opening match on February 7 against the Netherlands and will face arch-rivals India in the much-awaited clash on February 15.
