When will the 2026 Asian Games be played?

The 2026 Asian Games are to be hosted in Japan's Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya, with the men’s cricket competition is scheduled to be held from September 24 to October 3.

The multi-sport event is celebrated once every four years, but the previous edition was postponed and played in 2023 in Hangzhou due to the COVID-19.

Cricket was first introduced in the games for the first time in 2010. Although it is a very popular in the region, it has featured intermittently.

The rise of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi!

The 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was the talk of the town in the IPL 2026, where he slammed nearly 800 runs in a season at a breathtaking strike rate of 237.31. His berserk batting was the primary reason for Rajasthan Royals’ run to the IPL 2026 playoffs, where he smoked back-to-back 90s.

However, his valiant effort went in vain against Gujarat, as the GT skipper Shubman Gill evened out his efforts with a century in Qualifier 2.

The recent rise of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been widely discussed in the Indian cricketing fraternity.

The prodigal batter from Bihar is already included in the India A for the Tri-Series involving Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A. However, pundits and fans have consistently been calling for his selection to the Indian senior side.
