Rajasthan Royals' dream of winning their second IPL title came to an end after a heartbreaking defeat against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 on May 29. While the loss was difficult for the entire team, it appeared to hit young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi particularly hard.
The 'Wonder Boy'- Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been one of the biggest stories of IPL 2026. Throughout the tournament, he showed fearless batting and played several match-winning performances.
However, despite another stunning knock from the teenager, Rajasthan Royals were unable to secure a place in the final.
A season to remember for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
IPL 2026 has been a breakthrough season for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The young batter finished the campaign with 776 runs in 16 matches at an incredible strike rate of 237.30.
He smashed bowlers all over the park and undoubtedly became one of the most feared batters in the competition.
Sooryavanshi also produced unforgettable playoff knocks, including a stunning 97 off 29 balls in the Eliminator and match-defining innings of 96 runs against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2.
The star player also achieved several milestones, becoming the fastest batter in IPL history to reach 1,000 runs.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Reacts For 1st Time
Following Rajasthan Royals’ exit from the tournament, Sooryavanshi reacted for the first time on social media. The youngster reposted an emotional message originally shared by Rajasthan Royals on Instagram.
The post stated the disappointment of the entire franchise after missing out on a place in the final.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen crying after the defeat
The emotional impact of the loss on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was clearly visible after the match. Cameras captured Sooryavanshi sitting alone in the Rajasthan Royals dugout near the boundary rope.
The young batter looked devastated as RR's IPL 2026 journey came to an end. Despite producing another outstanding innings, he was unable to help his side cross the finish line.

Several teammates and members of the support staff later came over to comfort him. Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was also seen speaking to the youngster. Team manager Romi Bhinder and other support staff members also tried to console him.
At one point, Sooryavanshi was seen covering his face with a towel as he attempted to hide his emotions from the cameras.
Although the season ended in disappointment, Sooryavanshi's game has grabbed endless attention in IPL 2026.
