India vs England 1st T20I Toss Report [Source: X.com/Screengrab]
After losing their inevitable tag in Ireland, an energetic India team has landed in England to kickstart the five-match T20I series. The IND vs ENG 1st T20I match is set to begin at the Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street, on Wednesday (July 1).
Shreyas Iyer didn't have the greatest of starts to his T20I captaincy, losing to the minnows Ireland and becoming the second Indian captain to start off his captaincy career in such a manner.
However, the Men in Blue would like to agree with one theory, which is "Let the bygones, be bygones" as they begin a new set of missions.
England, on the other hand, are coming off a massive Test series loss to New Zealand, which also saw Ben Stokes bidding adios to the sport.
However, it's a different format altogether as the Harry Brook-led side will take on the T20 World Champions for the first time since their narrow defeat at Wakhede in the semifinal earlier this year.
IND vs ENG, 1st T20I Toss Update
In the all important toss, India won the toss and opted to bat first.
Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi play has been the question of the hour? As it was declared well before that the teenager won't play, the Indian management has backed the rested opening pair of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma.
However, the Men in Blue have made a couple of changes to their playing XI after losing to Ireland. Ravi Bishnoi and Varun Chakaravarthy have been included to the team.

Meanwhile, England have fielded a strong starting XI, with five proper batters, three all-rounders, two out-and-out pacers and Adil Rashid as designated wicket-taking spinner.

IND Vs IRE, 2nd T20I: What the captains had to say
Shreyas Iyer (India Captain): "We are going to bat first. Certainly, a great opportunity. It is my first... no.. my second series as a captain. We got what we wanted. We had a session of practice yesterday, acclimatised to the conditions and the surroundings.
(Mood in the camp?) It is fine. The Ireland series is history. We got to learn from it. We know how England play their cricket. We studied a bit. But we know their strengths and weaknesses.
(On the pitch) There is a decent amount of grass. We practiced on the same strip. There might be something for the seamers. But out intent is going to be high.
(Team combination) We have 3 spinners, including Axar as the all-rounder and 2 seamers."
Harry Brook (England Captain): "We would have bowled. So we are pretty happy with the result. Yeah, definitely. Looks like a good wicket, hopefully going to chase whatever runs they put on the board.
[How does he adapt to T20 and mood in the camp] Mood is really good. We are really looking forward to this series, starting against a really strong Indian side. Yeah, good to be back with the lads. That's part of cricket. You are got to get ready for the next series as quickly as you can. And try to make it as easy for yourself.
[On over 650 caps in England squad] Yeah, there's a lot of experienced players in the team and it is nice for me to be able to lean on them in the middle of the game. Likes of Jos Buttler and Sam Curran are there for me to lean on is really helpful.
[On the team combination] We are going with Jos Buttler and Phil Salt to open, myself at three. Jacob Bethell at four. Banton five, Sam Curran six, Jacks seven, Dawson eight, Rashid, Saqib Mahmood and Luke Wood are nine, 10 and 11."
