Bangladesh will enter the T20I leg of their Zimbabwe tour without four senior players. Captain Litton Das, all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, and fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud have received No-Objection Certificates from the Bangladesh Cricket Board to feature in the Lanka Premier League.
The franchise tournament runs from July 17 to August 8, fully overlapping with the three T20Is scheduled from July 15 to 19 in Bulawayo.
Their absence have now forced the team management to appoint a new T20I captain for the series as the decision signals a clear priority for franchise cricket over national duty in this window.
Bangladesh Set To Play Zimbabwe White Ball Tour After Test Defeat
Bangladesh arrives in the white-ball segment of the tour after a difficult Test outing. The one-off match in Harare from June 28 to 30 ended in a crushing innings-and-85-run defeat.
Zimbabwe posted 410 in their first innings and then bowled Bangladesh out for 140 and 185. The three-match ODI series starts on July 6 at the same venue, with subsequent games on July 9 and 11.
The action then shifts to Bulawayo for the T20I series on July 15, 17 and 19. While the ODI squad remains intact, the T20I side will have a markedly different look.

Litton Das And Others Get Green Nod For LPL 2026 As Towhid Hridoy Leads Nation
The BCB issued NOCs to the four cricketers, clearing them to join the LPL directly from the ODI series. The T20Is in Zimbabwe clash entirely with the league’s opening days. In Litton's absence, Towhid Hridoy will lead the side, marking his second series as Bangladesh's captain.
The first T20I is on July 15, two days before the LPL begins, and the second and third T20Is fall squarely on July 17 and 19, when the tournament is underway.
All four players will therefore miss the entire T20I series. Although self-harming in terms of national prospects, the board’s decision reflects a growing acceptance of franchise commitments, even when they coincide with international matches.
