The Indian cricket team has been on a very poor run since the Ireland T20Is, and the disappointment continued in the England T20I series as well. It was especially a very poor outing for the 15-year-old wonder-kid Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has not been able to perform since making his debut in the second T20I against England.
In a recent media report, India head coach Gautam Gambhir was allegedly seen schooling the Rajasthan Royals star regarding his poor outings in the three matches that he played during the Europe tour.
Gambhir seen having animated discussion with Sooryavanshi, Iyer
As per a report from RaySportz, journalist Ankan Kar shared visuals of Shreyas Iyer having a chat with batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, alongside the presence of Gautam Gambhir.
The conversation went on for a long time, and Gambhir seemed displeased with India's series defeat, even questioning the approach of the players on the England tour.
The intense animated conversation continued before moving on to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's playing style as soon as Iyer left for the post-match presentation.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi gets schooled by Gambhir
As per Ankan Kar, Gautam Gambhir was extremely disappointed with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as the head coach animatedly chatted with him for around 10-15 minutes in the dugout at Bristol, where the Indian team lost the fourth T20I by nine wickets.
While the exact conversation and content of the discussion have not been disclosed, it was very much clear from the visuals that Gautam Gambhir was not happy with the team's performance, especially with Sooryavanshi, who has, in all three innings, fallen prey to the English fast bowlers and suffered early dismissals.
While one of his wickets was taken by Will Jacks, the other two dismissals came at the hands of Vaibhav's Rajasthan Royals teammate Jofra Archer.
Nevertheless, this has brought Vaibhav Sooryavanshi under the scanner, with his future coming under heavy clouds since his debut has not gone well.
India's top order under scanner?
Alongside Vaibhav, the whole of India's top order, except Shreyas Iyer in the middle order, has been a disappointing shadow of itself.
Other than Vaibhav, India's firebrand batters Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan are also under scrutiny, with the former's playing style under the scanner.
Throwing wickets away won't be tolerated by Gautam Gambhir and Co., as India's powerplay performances in the last three T20Is against England have been pretty woeful, with the English bowlers coming out on top on every occasion.
Can Sooryavanshi bounce back in the 5th T20I vs England?
Sooryavanshi can definitely bounce back in the final T20I of the series to be played at the Rose Bowl, Southampton. The Southampton pitch is typically batting-friendly and offers true bounce.
Although the new-ball bowlers can generate early movement, once settled, batters can eventually find a good rhythm. Hence, the chances of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shining in the fifth and final T20I on July 11 are evident.
While the Indian team has been struggling, there may not be many changes made by Gautam Gambhir, as the management would like to assess the England tour as a whole and analytically identify the team's weak points once the tour concludes. After the T20I series, India will face England again in the ODI series, which will begin on July 14.
