England’s star player Jos Buttler recently showered high praise on the teenage sensation ahead of the IPL 2026 clash between the Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans.
During a training session at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Jos Buttler was seen interacting with Sooryavanshi in a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
Impressed by the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s confidence and fearless batting, Buttler did not hold back in expressing his admiration. He described Sooryavanshi as the best player.

“He’s the best player I’ve seen,” Buttler said.
Jos Buttler also spoke about the teenager’s immense potential, imagining how dominant he could become in the coming years. He referred to Sooryavanshi's remarkable innings of 175 runs off just 80 balls in the Under-19 World Cup against England.
“Imagine when he’s 21 or 25, the world at his feet,” he added.
"You broke English hearts in the U19 World Cup. It's awesome," continued Buttler.
"Playing so well, great to watch, keep it up. That freedom is so good to watch," Buttler concluded, speaking ahead of GT's upcoming clash vs RR.

He began the season in style, scoring a quickfire half-century against Chennai Super Kings. His knock of 52 runs off just 17 balls in Guwahati showcased his attacking mindset and ability to dominate bowlers. He played the innings at a strike rate of 305.88; he smashed five sixes as well.
