England name Jordan Cox, Sonny Baker as debutants in playing XI
The ECB has named England’s playing XI for the upcoming second Test against New Zealand at The Oval between June 17 and June 21. England wicketkeeper-batter Jordan Cox and Hampshire fast bowler Sonny Baker will both be making their Test debuts, and the selection committee also recalled Jofra Archer and Matthew Fisher for their respective Test returns.

With Ben Stokes missing, former skipper Joe Root will be leading the side on an interim basis.
Tilak Varma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fight with umpires, Sri Lanka A players
India A secured a thrilling tie against Sri Lanka A in match four of the Sri Lanka tri-nation series in Dambulla. After the match, India A captain Tilak Varma argued with the umpires to carry on with a Super Over, even though the umpires were reluctant owing to bad light at the venue.
Sri Lanka A won the Super Over to remain on top of the tri-series points table. During their celebration, Sri Lanka players were confronted by Indian opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in a heated exchange.
Shamar Joseph decimates SL, wins it for West Indies
West Indies fast bowler Shamar Joseph picked up figures of 5-33 from his four overs against Sri Lanka in the series-deciding third T20I in Kingston. His spell helped West Indies restrict the visitors to just 169 in 20 overs.
In response, a half-century from Sherfane Rutherford steered West Indies to a comprehensive five-wicket win as they sealed the three-match series 2-1.
Cameron Green pulls out of Bangladesh T20I series
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has pulled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. As per reports, the cricketer opted out in a bid to prepare for Australia’s upcoming two Test matches against the same opponents at home in August.
Green scored 104 runs in three ODIs against Bangladesh this month at an average of 52. He also played the entire IPL 2026 season for the KKR franchise.
Ashok Sharma leaves Rajasthan to join Gujarat
Gujarat Titans fast bowler Ashok Sharma has parted ways with the Rajasthan cricket team in India’s domestic competitions. The 24-year-old will now be joining Gujarat, which also happens to be the home town of his IPL franchise.
Rajasthan has already given a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to Ashok for his move ahead of this year’s 2026-27 Indian domestic season.
