Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel are currently two premier assets of the Rajasthan Royals cricket team. The franchise has been qualified for the playoffs and will play the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday.
However, ahead of the clash, the two players took some time off to show off their defence skills for a RedBull challenge video.
While defence is not the best form of offence in T20 cricket, like IPL 2026, the duo had a fun day out to pull each other’s leg and play a friendly game of cricket, usually seen in the gullies of India.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel’s IPL Bashing So Far
Both Sooryavanshi and Jurel have been important batting contributor for their team. As a duo, in batting partnership, Jurel and Vaibhav together have contributed 401 runs from 7 innings this season while averaging 57.28.
They have the second-highest partnership for RR in IPL 2026, with the highest one belonging to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal of 622 runs. Individually, Vaibhav has been a total aggressor on the ground.

From 14 matches, Vaibhav has a total of 583 runs while boasting a mammoth strike rate of 232.27, which is also the highest strike rate for any batter in this season of IPL.
Jurel, on the other hand, has been a moderate hitter of the ball but boasts a solid average of 38.17. He has 458 runs from his appearances and continues to be one of the most dependable anchors for the franchise.
Sooryavanshi and Jurel’s Fun RedBull Challenge
In a YouTube video presented by the RedBull franchise, they collaborated with the Rajasthan Royals for a special cricket video. In the challenge, Jurel and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had to be at the top of a high-rise building as they were made to stand on top of a roof with a wheel scoreboard around them.
The batters had to score 60 runs to win from 30 balls and not by playing lofty shots but by defending the projectile delivery and keeping it inside safe circles of the wheel, preferably, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and not particularly in the ‘OUT’ segment.

With the self-explanatory rules, Vaibhav started off weak with not much luck on his side. However, Dhruv Jurel picked up the pace with consecutive 4s and 6s by defending the shots.
The wheel even started rotating mid-game to make the challenge even more difficult; however, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hit a SIX off the last ball to finish the chase with ease.
Conclusion: Vaibhav and Jurel Supremacy Hurting RR?
Soumyajit’s Take
To be honest, Rajasthan’s earlier phase of IPL 2026 was purely dependent on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s exceptional knocks that gave the team a kickstart with the powerplay.
Be it chasing or posting totals, RR had a huge chunk of dependency on the 15-year-old as the middle order didn’t have much depth throughout the season.
Out-of-form batters haven’t been able to do much in the middle, with only Dhruv Jurel being the sole contributor to save chases or matches where Sooryavanshi rarely faltered.
Nevertheless, if RR need to make their way to the IPL 2026 Final, they will need to regroup and keep a check on every player as a team and must not depend on the hard hitter alone to do all the heavy lifting.
